Dr. Laurie Beth Weston, MD

I'm 33 and this is the first time in my entire life I've walked out of an appointment with a doctor. I met her in the waiting room and said "Nice to meet you" with no response in return, she then walked ahead of me about 15 paces while I stared at her back. Got to her office, gave me no direction of where to sit - I asked if one of the two chairs was ok and she said "Fine" Within about 2 more minutes she was telling me she didn't think she could help me and was also telling me some side effects I was experiencing couldn't in anyway, shape or form be caused by the drug. I found that rather insulting since I've found plenty of people with the same experience with that drug. I was in the office with her for no more than 10 minutes, probably closer to 5.

Guess what I got. She didn' do testing before giving me the drug and ran away to Tucson after dropping me without good reason and by letter. I wouldn't recommend her.

I recently had my first appointment with Dr. Weston at La Frontera Center. I am very active in my own care, and have previously had issues with other doctors who felt that my opinions, ideas and insistence of my own involvement was intrusive and unnecessary. Dr. Weston listened to every one of my concerns, gave me many options for treatments, explained why she felt each one would work or not work, and let me decide how I wanted to proceed. I have dealt with mental health professionals since my diagnosis of Major Depression when I was 15 (I am now 25), and she was one of the two best doctors I have ever worked with.
