My first visit after being in the hospital, he was very understanding, attentive and thorough. I had no after effects of my colonoscopy, I have heard horror stories. Absolutely love this doc! He is the best!

Dr. Comerford is an excellent doctor. I had been misdiagnosed when I was able to see him. He correctly diagnosed my problem and prescribed the medication I needed. I drove 4 hours to see him as my doctor. I was very saddened to see him leave MUSC..

I found Dr. Comerford to be a very nice gentleman,very thorough with my care, and competent. I had been treated by another gastroenterologist but thanks to the pathologist used by that group, had no relief. Dr. Comerford pursued the cause of my problems and finally gave me my life back. Sorry to read what that gentleman wrote about him having his eyes closed and the rectal exam took 2-3 minutes and hurt but often, like when a cervix is examined digitally, a nurse or doctor can concentrate better on what they are feeling inside a closed space with eyes closed, and yeah--for those of us not used to having something foreign in the rectum--it sure is not comfortable. I think Dr. Comerford is just wonderful myself. Sorry for those who have had bad experiences. I would tend to think that is not his usual. Diagnosis does not always jump out at you. My son had his appendix removed by a very good surgeon and two weeks later,was in agonizing pain with fever and had to have is… gallbladder out by another good surgeon; see, things can be misleading. Don't knock my doctor. I would highly recommend him.

Dr. Lawrence Comerford should not treat a dog. He blew off my chronic abdominal pain as IBS. Turned out to be gallstones. Better when saw competent surgeon and had gallbladder out, but a decent gastroentenologist should have known.

I saw Dr. Comerford for routine colon cancer screening, because my older sister was diagnosed last year at age 41. During the pre-op visit, he did a rectal exam, and it seemed like it took at least 2-3 minutes, and was very painful. As a 32 year old man, I never had one before, so I was not quite sure wahts normal. But what creeped me out was that I could see in the mirror that his eyes were closed, and mouth partially open like he was enjoying it. I left without saying anything, but had my colonoscopy done elsewhere.

Very terse interactions. Seemed hurried. Did not seem to listen, in that he asked me the same questions several times. Colonoscopy was very painful, not like my first one with my previous doctor. Will never go back.
