Dr. Lawrence P Hsu, MD

I was referred to Dr. Lawrence Hsu at Kaiser Riverside by my PCP for frozen shoulder. (1.) Despite me insisting he stop, Dr. Hsu kept forcefully yanking my arm around until I was literally in tears. He also didn't listen well, was talking down to me as if I were an imbecile (even though I'm possibly 2 decades his senior! and an accomplished attorney), and kept shushing and interrupting me. (2.) Dr. Hsu gave me a steroid injection in my shoulder then advised me to STOP doing physical therapy, which ended up making my shoulder even more frozen in place. I learned later from other doctors that the entire reason for giving the injection is to enable a patient to CONTINUE physical therapy. (3.) Despite privately saying I couldn't work, Dr. Hsu refused to comment officially on my work status, work restrictions, or provide an off work note, even though my Kaiser PCP requested his expert opinion on the topic. Because of his refusal, I wasn't able to claim EDD or get workers' compensation… money.

Dr Hsu is the best. He is friendly, knowledgeable, and trustworthy. Always takes his time to answer my questions, sets expectations, and plans out the course of care. Thank you Dr Hsu.
