Dr. Lawrence Jay Kessler, DO

Brought my 21 month old in for a fever and probable ear infection at 10:30 at night. Doctor on duty was nice enough and verified diagnosis as upper respiratory and ear infection and prescribed antibiotic. When we got home from picking up the medicine at CVS, the pharmacy called our home and advised that the dosage of the medication was 2 times higher than it should be and advised not to take it. The doctor office was closed at that point and we were unable to verify the proper prescription. So we were unable to give the baby medicine that night and promptly called in the morning to the doctor office. We called 3 times to talk to Doctor Kessler to no avail. The best we could do was talk to the office manager who relayed a message that he was too busy and the dosage should be half of what was prescribed. I waited on the phone for 45 minutes. You would think after overprescribing (2X) a strong medication to a one year old, he could find the time, but no such luck. We ended up… bringing the baby the next morning to our own pediatrician. This place is convenient, but I would not recommend this office for small children and I will not be going back!

Great guy I went in with a cold not much he could do with that. But during the exam he saw I had hight blood presser he got me on Blood pressure pills Right away. He may have saved me from some thing bad happening to me.thank you doc

My wife took my daughter to ERDOX Massapequa because my 2 yr old fell out of the crib and we feared that she broke her arm. DR KESSLER took an Cray found a break, claimed it was a "very old break" that went untreated and advised us that the break would have been so painful that we should have noticed and then he proceeded to report us to c.p.s. we take my daughter to a pediatric orthopedics who tells us it's a brand new break.........oh AND it was broken in two places, meaning that kessler missed one break and misdiagnosed the other break, so think twice before you patronize either Massapequa ERDOX or Olympic pediatrics in Amityville, they will set you back.

I visited this doctor's emerg practice in Massapequa about 4 times-3 times for my son and once for my daughter. 2 out of the 4 I had the displeasure of seeing Dr Kessler. He was condescending and treated me as if I was an idiot unworthy of responses to my questions on both occasions that I took my children to see him. Dr Kessler was so unpleasant to me the first time that we saw him that even my elementary school aged child commented upon it. When I questioned him regaring the use of a very strong oral steroid to treat my child's allergic condition, and requested a topical rather than oral

What a difference a doctor and office make. Called my internist because I was sick, office told me they could get me in on thursday(it was monday). Local and friendly, Dr. Kessler took the time to explain everything, why I did NOT need antibiotics, and I got better before thursady. They didnt wast time on tests I did not need. Whew, what a pleasure to know there is a private ER that treats people like royalty!

I went to Dr. Kessler office and the staff was so unkind and snotty. They wouldn't even call my insurance company to check if it would cover the office visit because "they knew it wouldn't". Then the doctor refuse to give my boys a easy physical for so they could go for camp because I opted to skip having blood work (to check their immune status) I've had doctors fill out the form before without a problem or request of blood work. He just said he wouldn't sign it. He engage in an argument right out in the waiting area.Then when I asked for his name, one of his workers said they didn't know his first name and its right outside the front door.I would never recommend anyone to this doctor because of the way he treated me. He was unprofessional, immature, rude and unethical.
