Dr. Lawrence Louis Kohn, MD

Great doctor, very attentive to me explaining everything to him. Dr. Lawrence is a wonderful doctor and a wonderful human being and I am grateful to him for his knowledge.

Dr Kohn is very knowledgeable, explains things well and takes time with you. He responds quickly to questions.His staff is great and helpful.

Dr. Kohn is the best internist from whom I have received care. He is patient, kind and extremely knowledgeable. Not only is he a top notch diagnostitian, he is smart enough to refer to a specialist when needed. Those referrals have always been solid which indicates to me he interacts with his fellow physicians and knows their capabilities as well. We feel so fortunate to have him look after both me and my husband who have presented several health challenges that have been resolved well for 80 plus year old patients.

When searching for a primary care physician, I was looking to find a doctor who exhibited experience without being over-the-hill; intellectual understanding without being overly egotistical; a caring doctor that seems more likely to be dedicated to quality healthcare than to lifestyle! I found Lawrence L Kohn through my medicare healthcare provider and attest that I find Dr. Kohn to be: • a doctor that follows the science • a doctor that continues reading studies • a doctor that makes a patient feel comfortable • a doctor that offers you straight talk • a doctor that follows up • a doctor that shows ongoing interest in your wellbeing • a doctor who is not a shameless pill pusher Dr. Kohn recommended I have some testing based on facts and statistics but not on any showing symptoms. This resulted in my having extensive procedures which potentially saved me from a premature death. He takes the time to listen, answer questions and explain things . He uncovered a potential medical issue during an early visit and his thorough follow up over the next couple of years helped me get the right treatment. I have never had an issue with trying to schedule an appointment or with billing.

I have Medicare and United Healthcare as a supplementary insurance coverage. The reason for my visit to Dr. Kohn was a pain related issue. I was billed by Dr. Kohn's staff for a Wellness exam and a Senior Wellness exam. Medicare paid the Wellness exam, but did not cover Senior Wellness exam. The Wellness exam included a few short questions and a memory test. According to the assistant that gave me the test I passed the test. I did not request this test nor did I need or want it. Again my visit was for relief of pain. Upon receiving the paperwork from Medicare I noted the double billing, called Medicare and was told that if they don't approve a test my supplementary insurance does not cover it. They do not cover Senior Wellness exam. No surprise, it's a scam! The bill from NCH was $249 for Dr. Kohn's visit. I called Dr. Kohn's office to discuss the double billing and was told I had to speak to the office manager. Left a message for the office manager to return my call, waited a couple… of days, no response. I then called him directly. His voice mailbox was full. Three weeks later I received a return call saying he could do nothing to rectify the double billing issue. I called NCH they instructed me to call Dr. Kohn's office directly. I informed them that Dr. Kohn's office refused to correct the billing. To make matters worse, along with the $249 bill NCH has included 2 office visits with a Pain Management doctor. I have paid those deductibles with checks noting the specific doctors visits to be credited. NCH has ignored my notations on my checks and has credited Dr. Kohn with those minimal deductibles leaving the Pain Management bill unpaid and the remainder of $249 owed.

The front desk never answers the phone. So if you need to get an appointment or need to reschedule one, good luck to you! More than luck actually!? But why? Why a doctor or his office manager does not address this problem when they know this is a real thing for the patient. Even Google reviews has questions about this office mentioning the problem! If the office manager doesn't care about the convenience of patients, then why should you take your business to them, right? The most ridiculous thing I've seen in local doctors offices here in Naples and this office is no exception to the rule of utter disrespect to patients! I also need to note that I have been calling and leaving voice messages to this office since Friday (Today is Monday) and leaving my phone number and requesting a call back to make an important change with my appointment with DR. Kohn, but they haven't called back! Do yourself a favor, find a doctors office that do care your well-being and time! And honestly, looking… at the current scene in Naples area, good luck with that either!

Quality,kindness, thoroughness, a true gem. Great personality, intelligent, Naples is very lucky to have such a fine internist.
