Dr. Lawrence Kevin Koning, MD

Wasted my 25$ copay to be told no to a sterilization procedure I wanted. When I originally made the appointment I was assured that Dr.Koning wouldn’t even see me if he didn’t consider me a candidate... what a lie. Either he didn’t bother to even glance at my chart beforehand or he did and just wanted to take my money to tell me no. Horrible experience, would rather see a OBGYN with women’s actual best interest in mind, rather than one that just sees women as future baby-making machines

My review is only about Dr. Koning and not his front office staff or PAs. They were all wonderful during my 3 month stay with them. Brandi and Kala are both incredibly sweet and take their time with patients, Dr. Koning could learn a few things from them. I left his office at 22 weeks because I have never felt more disrespected and unimportant to a healthcare provider in my life. At 20 weeks I had an episode (due to dehydration and anemia) where I blacked out and fell face first onto blacktop. I bit through my lip, fractured three teeth, and had some facial trauma. I was rushed to ER in an ambulance where they determined baby was A OK, gave me my diagnosis, and told me to follow-up with my OB. I saw Kala the next day and Dr. Koning 1 week later. I had a ton of questions for him but they all went out the window when he rushed into my room, barely looked me in the face, and rattled off his obligatory questions “are you feeling movement” “are you eating” yada yada yada. He didn’t… introduce himself to me or my husband. Ladies, he didn’t even look me in the eyes long enough to see the trauma to my face. It became very clear he hadn’t read my file, hadn’t seen my ER visit, and was only concerned with rushing through my appointment to get onto the next. Had my daughter not been in the room I probably would have been more forceful and given him my two cents about his complete lack of concern, but I refrained. It took me a while to post this review because I wanted to make sure I wasn't overreacting but after speaking to several more mom friends, they were just as appalled. I do not recommend him to anyone, save your money and go elsewhere. His office is more concerned with volume than quality of care. I would rather drive an hour to my old OB than see him. He’s fast food service on a fine-dining budget.

What a horrible experience! I would give ZERO stars if I could! I am 11 weeks along, have not been seen by a doctor yet due to my first appointment being canceled with a different doctor. I found Koning to have great reviews on all the major review sites, so I thought my appointment would be great. I arrived to his magnolia office early, with a few papers left unsigned on purpose. I want to have a water birth, so I didn't sign the paperwork for his full fees. When they find this out this rude woman who must have been his wife said that he doesn't believe in water births, and she would have to see if he would even see me today. She came back and told me no that I could try the obgyn across the hall. I asked why they could just examine me for my first appointment, that I had the right to choose who I had deliver my baby, and she said they had the right to refuse service. So it is very clear to me that this man is only interested in making the $2500 fee he charges for appointments, birth… and postnatal check ups. His fee does not include any tests or screenings. I can not believe that he refused to even examine me just because I want to have a water birth! I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND DR KONING TO ANYONE!

I would definitely recommend. So happy with the staff and how they treat me like more then a patient, but as a friend. I always feel welcomed and look forward to appointments. Koning does rush a little, but the staff makes up for it in great ways. Koning is nice, and funny and I'm currently seeing the offices for my second pregnancy.

Dr. Koning is the one of the greatest doctors in corona. He delivered my baby and it was so wonderful he made me feel so comfortable as well as my husband. Through out my pregnancy he answered all my questions and dedicated enough time to make sure I understood everything . I would recommed doctor koning to every women out there that is looking for a great doctor

Great bedside manner but poor when delivering my daughter. Very rushed and was literally in the room less than 5 minutes. I waited for him for 2o minutes just to deliver in under 3 pushes. I would suggest finding a less busy doctor :(

I was a very anxious first time mom and Dr.Koning's office was SO comforting. I switched OBs half way through my pregnancy because I wasn't comfortable with my first OB, and I'm so glad that I changed. Dr.Koning and his staff are extremely friendly and knowledgeable and they really put me at ease. I feel like I made friends there! From the receptionist, to the medical assistants, to the two nurse practioners, and to Dr.Koning himself, everyone was AMAZING!I always felt comfortable calling with any question I had and they were always able to squeeze me in to see the doctor or nurse practitioner if needed. I would definitely recommend this office to others.
