Dr. Lawrence Mather Martin, MD

Dr. Martin is so thorough, yet kind. He uses a balance of therapy and medications to assist and has been a tremendous help for me!

The first dr who has really listened and come up with solutions that worked for me. He is sympathetic to side effects of these meds that can be hard to tolerate. Other docs have denied that some side effects could be possible. He is cautious with meds and does not overmedicate.

Dr Martin has a wonderful and warm personality with an extraordinary depth of knowledge in regards to my problem.

Dr. Martin asked for a thorough history from me and he never once took his eyes from mine. He then spoke to me as an individual suffering and needing his help. He discussed types of treatment he considered best for me and I trust his vast expertise. He is completely professional while being personable. I highly recommend him for difficult to solve problems involving the mind not syncing with the life you want to be living. He is the real deal.

Dr. Martin is a compassionate as well as an excellent diagnostician.

- Discussed issues related to other patients that made me uncomfortable, including others' prescriptions that seemed naive and dangerous. - Wasted time during office visits discussing the general state of the psychiatry industry. Often spent more time talking than listening.After an insurance issue beyond my control caused a claim to be denied, I was expected to to pay out of pocket double what the insurance company usually paid. After numerous phone calls to both insurance companies involved and to Dr. Martin's office, the end result was Dr. Martin lecturing my wife on what he called "her sense of entitlement."While I believe that Dr. Martin may be qualified to work with certain individuals, it is my strong opinion that his office should be avoided. At his practice, the quality of services rendered ultimately depends on the patient's efforteffort that can just as well be spent finding someone who wants to help.

It has taken me a long time to find a doctor I could trust who also had a great bedside manner. Dr. Martin came with excellent referrals and has lived up to his reputation.

It is nice to know that there are still doctors out there that are there for the patient. He treats his patients like part of an extended family.

By far one of the best psychiatrist's I have ever had treat me. He is the only psychiatrist that I have had in over 25 years who was able to correctly diagnose and treat my disorder.

Dr. Martin treats patients with respect. He listens to them and makes them feel that they are part of a team solving a problem. He brings the expertise and experience; the patient brings intimate knowledge of her body and mind.
