Summary
I was born and raised in Southern California. I attended USC, where I received my bachelor's degree in psychobiology. As far back as I can remember, I had always wanted to become a physician. I received my medical degree in osteopathic medicine in 1987 and completed an emergency medicine residency in Detroit. Since practicing emergency medicine, I have volunteered my time with California Task Force 6 -an urban search and rescue team under the jurisdiction of FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency). I have served in New York during the 9/11 terrorist attacks, as well as in New Orleans during Hurricane Katrina. I've been married for the 27 years and have five children.
