Dr. Lawrence Neil Payne, MD

I went to the ER due to what I thought was likely a pulled muscle in my chest, caused by too strenuous exercise. But I wanted to make sure it was just a pulled muscle, not a heart problem, after several days of pretty extreme pain. Thankfully, I was right, it was just a muscle pain. After it was determined that I was healthy, Dr. Payne came up and asked me, "Are you depressed?" I'm pretty certain it was his hope to prescribe me an antidepressant after that three word, in depth analysis of my psyche. I told him no, and mentioned that I was allergic to drugs that cause anticholinergic toxidrome, which should have been blatantly obvious to him, if he had bothered to look at my medical history and the drugs I was allergic to. He quickly walked away. My point being, however, is that the Cleveland Clinic ER should do more than just ask a three word sentence, prior to attempting to prescribe mind altering, neurotoxic, anticholinergic toxidrome inducing, psychiatric drugs. I will say… for the most part other doctors I've dealt with at the Cleveland Clinic have been fairly good.
