Dr. Lawrence Quan, MD

Doesn't listen. I told him twice in the same visit that I couldn't take a certain antidepressant since I had been on it for post partum depression and it gave me awful suicidal thoughts. He tried on three occasions to prescribe it, ignoring me. He then prescribed a similar drug that gave me a horrible allergic reaction, and spoke as if it wasn't a serious matter when I told him I spent 5 days itching like crazy after taking the drug for only 4 days. The Healthpoint referral office did nothing for me when it came to finding a psychiatrist for me. It disappointed me when the psych office called to say that I had been referred but they didn't take my insurance. When I informed Dr. Quan, they shrugged it off and said the rest was on me. Thanks. He did not want to prescribe me anxiety drugs for my condition but also would do nothing to help me find assistance with my condition. Lastly? He suggested journaling and prayer. Prayer isn't medicine, doctor. As a registered nurse, I was appalled… by the treatment I received and the doctor's unwillingness to do anything but prescribe me medications I had tried unsuccessfully in the past with previous doctors.

A year ago this office and Dr Quan would have gotten a 5 star but over the last few months things have changed. The doctor seems to have gotten an attitude of not caring. Just get to the next patient. He even said that he is 'an out patient doctor only' when asked what type of doctor we should go to to get more help. He left the room and did not come back. I have switched doctors.
