Dr. Lawrence Joseph Rueff, MD

Uncaring physician who exhibits a passive aggressive demeanor. When a loved one grew suddenly less independent it was incumbent upon me to look after loved one’s healthcare and well-being. My reasonable inquiries were insulted by Dr Rueff accusing me of calling too much. We were in crisis- why wouldn’t I contact this “big bucks” guy whose shows a poor bedside manner? I deserved respect and should not have been treated like a child, nor should my loved one under his care have been disinterestedly “treated” as he sees fit? His unwillingness to refund 10 months of unused concierge treatment was the crowning blow to an unfair, even insensitive, attitude that continues to languish. Has no choice but to sever the relationship. He and his staff never even had the decency to respond to a thorough explanation of our concerns via email or personal phone call! Callousness cloaked with surface niceties such as “oh, (your loved one) will be okay,” without lending credible advice, is the gravest… form of slander and undermines the Christian service of caring for the vulnerable.

I thought a concierge practice would help my husband deal with serious health issues. Dr. Rueff had availability (the top concierge practices didn't), so we met with him and paid about $500. A few weeks later we had a health crisis, so I called Dr. Rueff to acquaint him with the details. He replied, "That's a case for your [specialist]." He made no offer or attempt to help, and acted as if our problem had no pertinence to him. A few weeks later, his office staff called to set up initial lab work. The availability for appointments was extremely limited--not what one would expect from a concierge practice. There were very few appointments, and no time that worked for us. The next time we heard from them was two months later when "Jamie" called to find out if we would pay to renew! I was distressed, and said that our first payment had been a waste of money. Jamie yelled into the phone, "NO! DR. RUEFF IS A VERY GOOD DOCTOR!" and hung up on me! Incredibly unprofessional. A complete ripoff.

Dr. Rueff is very thorough and explains everything where I can understand each answer. I am very pleased with his medical guidance for me

My Parents have been patients of Dr. Rueff's for over 20 years much to my and my siblings dissatisfaction. My mother passed away years ago from medical condition that we feel should have been caught much earlier than it was. As my father got older, Dr. Rueff began charging a concierge fee, which many doctors do however, as my father spent more time in the hospital and Dr Rueff had to make more frequent visits, he was rude to our family and the nursing staff. When we moved my father out of Louisville, and he had 7 month remaining in his concierge contract, we asked for a refund and we were denied. Dr. Rueff did not respond to 2 legal request. It is very clear to my family that he takes advantage of the elderly. Do you want this to be your doctor?

Dr. Rueff has been my physician for 25 years. wouldn't change a thing!

The practice is well organized so waiting time is minimal. The doctor is prompt, attentive and very thorough...not afraid to touch the patient. His diagnosis is spot on after detailed, extensive examination and discussing with patient. The staff is outstanding. My husband, a patient for 20 years agrees with this review.

I have been seeing Dr. Lawrence Rueff for over 20 years. I have always found him to be professional, a good listener, and to give clear and informed responses to any questions I might have. He and his staff are most efficient but caring...never too busy. I especially remember the support he gave during my wife's lingering illness. He is more that just a clinician. I would recommend Dr. Rueff without any hesitation to friends. In fact I have done just that.

He returns calls when you call him from home in a timely manner. He is very informative about your concerns and explains it so you understand. I would recommend him to anyone.
