Dr. Lawrence Evan Scheer, MD

I saw Dr. Sheer in his Bristol office as a new patient. He did an allergy test which was negative. Then he said he wanted to do a more involved allergy test. Didn't get why but soon found out. That test was negative too. I found out later that my insurance only allowed 1 allergy test a year so I got stuck with the bill! What a racket!!!!!! I later called the doctor and asked why he would not know my insurance only paid for 1 test and he said he couldn't know what ever company allows. Being in the health field in a specialty we knew the frequencies allowed by the companies we participated so we could better serve our patients why can't he do so? I asked the doctor if he could under the circumstances give me a small courtesy and he stated that since I haven't paid anything on the bill yet how could he give me a courtesy. He had to see an effort made. So I made a better effort than I told him I could and I called him and left him a message regarding this asking again for the… courtesy. He never called me back. Then I got a bill asking me to pay it in a certain way to avoid being sent to collection. What a way to treat your patients!! I would never go back to that office in a million years. All they care about is how you are going to pay for the unnecessary testing he performed. New patients beware!!!!

I have been seeing Dr. Scheer for 10+ years for my allergies and asthma, and I would never consider going elsewhere for treatment. He is a great doctor and is very nice.
