Dr. Lawrence Steven Schiffman, MD

Was under Dr. Schiffman's care for over 12 years. Had a severe RA attack that left me bedridden and crippled. He helped me get over it to where I could have a life and not wish I were dead. He was also excellent as an internist. He could always answer my questions. The wait time was often long but I didn't mind because I knew it meant he was taking the time needed with his other patients just like he did with me. I have lost track of him and wish I knew where he is now.

Had 1 visit and decided not to go back. Dr. had no interest in hearing mY concerns.

The best part of my visits with Dr. Schiffman was the on site laboratory. So convenient and warm staff person there. My needs were not complicated. Saw Dr. Schiffman for osteoarthritis. Throughout my evaluation I sensed a lack of empathy and that he was feeling bored. I decided to go to another rheumatologist. Very good decision, indeed.

i have seen Dr. Shiffman since 2009. He is absolutely wonderful , a bit difficult to get a quick office appointment but it's worth the wait. He is wonderful the way he diagnoses. And easy to speak to , he has a mannerism, which i am so grateful i have found this dr. i cannot believe anyone would opt out and leave him. He has helped me so much in the past and present. My knee kept swelling as i am a nurse, and always on my feet. He got rid of the pain, and also put me on a low dose of anti inflammatory.I am just very grateful that there are dr.s like him....that are still remaining...what a great staff, and they will go out of their way to greet you, etc. They are very cheeful, the room is a cheery place too, and very well lit...with the newspaper, and magazines to help pass the time! thank you dr. shiffman for being there when i needed you

I switched to him 4-5 years ago. Am now switching out. Have waited over an hour for my appointment on countless occasions with no apologies even once. He acts more like a babysitter than a doctor. Has lied about my dx and withheld results of poor xrays, I believe to further his quest to stop prescribing my much needed meds. I believe if I stay with him he will cripple me before I turn 50. It appears from our conversations he's more concerned about his practice insurance and being sued (which he has eluded had happened), than giving appropriate patient care.
