not a very friendly doctor

I saw Dr Stam with a history of fifteen years of chronic kidney disease. He did NOT take a history or look at the test results from my history of severe dehydration and kidney problems. Instead he just poo-pooed my concerns and symptoms, printed out a sheet of my most recent blood tests. (about three over a number of months) and declared that my blood work was improving--therefore I was getting better. That was it. With in a week I had started to swell up again from the kidney problems, my left leg turned red and swollen. It was so painful I could not stand or bend my knee for three weeks. I had the exact same thing with this leg eight months ago. I went to another doctor and was diagnosed with chronic kidney disease and near liver failure because the kidneys have not been doing their job for 15 years and toxins have built up so badly in my body that I am suffering neurological symptoms. BTW--when I saw Dr Stam I had every symptom of kidney disease. He did not even ask… about them. I could have died if I had listened to him.

While in Dr. Stam's care, I felt like I was treated as if I were one of his own family members. When I cried, he always stayed by my bedside to listen or offer words of encouragement. Even on his days off, he would check to make sure I was ok. I will always remember his diligence to get me back to health. He believed in my healing more than I could at times. I am truly blessed to have been under his care.

Dr. Stam has been my doctor since 1983. Of all the doctors I went to, he's the one who diagnosed my renal failure. He is one of my angels.
