Dr. Lawrence Robert Volz, MD

Bladder cancer isn't fun but Dr. Volz made it understandable and bearable while treating me. His nurses are a bit abrupt but I wan't competent care rather than hand-holding and they did their jobs.

I credit Dr Volz with saving my life , along with 2 associate doctors. I had a PSA of 58 and a Gleason score of 5+4 (a high 9). After treatment just over 8 years ago, my PSA is now nearly undetectable. This doctor cares, and I will always feel indebted to him.

My appointment with Dr. Volz was great. The after scheduling however has been horrid it is been two weeks and I finally got an appointment for a CT urogram, which should have been done between that appointment two weeks ago and the next one in two weeks. The office finally contacted me and told me that my CT scan was for the 30th the day before my next appointment however the staff to give me an address of where I was supposed to go. After searching the Internet I still have no idea where I'm supposed to be. Incompetence abounds. I'll be glad when this experience is terminated.

Dr. Lawrence R. Volz has been my only urologist over the years. He has provided excellent medical care. When he began practice in Portsmouth VA after many years in Williamsburg, went to the Portsmouth VA office. I am happy to have him back in Williamsburg. He is a caring, skilled physician who serves our community well.

Best doctor and practice I have been to ..... anywhere.

Dr Volz was very helpful, courteous, listened well, clearly explained the situation in understandable terms and encouraged me to participate in the decision making when it came to pursuing options. His professionalism was beyond compare. I would have no hesitation of seeing him again if the need arises
