Dismissive, rude, and not qualified to treat patients with chronic conditions.

She was efficient and caring. Very good experience.

Rather than refer to proper specialist Dr. Yerram told the patient there was nothing that could be done for her wounds until after surgery fixed her veins. Turns out no surgery was needed to fix her veins. May require amputation as a result. Months of untreated gangrene - Dr. Yerram said no treatment was available. Wound care specialist disagreed and was upset no treatment had been provided prior.As a general family doc I am sure that Dr. Yerram is fully qualified. Chronic care patients with severe diseases and no verifiable diagnosis should seek a more qualified physician who does not "miss the forest for the trees" Treatment of gangrene does not require a formal diagnosis. Wound care referral was not even attempted. Wound care received months later was only the result of a referral for surgery to evaluate finger for amputation (after fingernail autoamputated). The smell of gangrene was overpowering and no treatment was offered over several months short of wrapping it and… referring to surgery for potential amputation. Finger with the worst gangrene which lost the nail... currently exposed down to the bone (rotted away). No cultures were ever done, no antibiotics offered, Dr. Yerram insisted no treamtent would help aside from vascular surgery on the forearms. Again, this surgery was later deemed unnecessary by the vascular surgeon. Only THEN were we referred to the Rheumatology clinic. Dr. Yerram had access to all vascular studies and despite not being a vascular specialist decided that the patient would only benefit from surgery and no other treatment. What a mess.
