Dr. Leah Esther Fuchs, MD

My Partner recently went into the hospital (she is still there) and it ended up that she had a very painful infection. When we were in the ER they gave her a Dilaudid to help take the edge off (her face was and is swollen to twice the size it was before) and managed it from there with an anti-inflammatory, which helped but only to a sometimes manageable level as it was. My SO doesn't have an addictive personality nor does she have anything in her life that would indicate that and was trooping through the pain with her anti-inflammatory. This doctor had not been working with her at ALL during the process and was just coming in for the first time to give her results of what the mystery infection was. Part of the procedure they wanted my SO to start was going to increase her pain quite a bit and she was concerned about managing it at a higher level when it was still so brutal as it was (this was halfway into Day 2 at the hospital). This Doctor gave NO mind to her pain and instead told her… she's a "strong girl" who can manage it and left. This person we saw once in our entire trip, who never experienced what was going on 99% of the time, and who left no contact information to get a hold of her just vanished for good with orders to the nurses not to give her anything other than tylenol and the anti-inflammatory, supposedly because she didn't want her patient to "get hooked". SO has been in a severely escalated amount of pain for hours now and this doctor hasn't once reached out to even see us twice after instructing her to do something that she KNEW would put my Partner in more pain. She doesn't care for her patients whatsoever. At least not my Partner.
