Dr. Leah Casey Tobin, MD

I'm with all the others here who said they wouldn't recommend Dr. Tobin to their worst enemy. First, I was warned by the office manager to be extra early because Dr. Tobin doesn't like it when patients are late. I arrived at 7:36 am for my 8:00 am appointment, and didn't see her until 8:35 am (no apology was offered). As a new patient, I expected her to at least briefly chat with me prior to the official exam, but that was not the case. I am an extremely fit, 56 year old athlete, with no medical problems. At my last annual physical (pre-pandemic, and in a different state) my overall cholesterol was slightly elevated but my doctor at the time was not concerned given my athleticism. Dr. Tobin, without even waiting for the current lab test results, said she would want to do a CT scan for my heart plus a stress test. (Note: she herself is overweight by at least 25 lbs). Throughout the appointment she used a snarky tone, indicated that decisions I’d made were “not the right decision,” and… in general didn’t trust my own assessment of my life circumstances or my own body – despite the fact that as she herself admitted, “I’ve never met you before.” Not an ounce of concern or care, and no attempt to use more compassionate language like “One thing you might consider is . . ., etc.). There are other details that I can’t disclose here but I will be pursuing more formal action.

Not a satisfactory visit!

Horrid professionalism, downright angry and argumentative. More worried about making $ with an exam than doing a physical.

Dr. Tobin sat down and discussed my medical conditions for at least 15 minutes. She asked a lot of questions, and definitely went above and beyond what I have experienced in the past with doctors. She is very personable and her staff is excellent! Everyone is friendly, courteous and their office is beautiful!

She goes about and beyond any primary care doctor I have ever had. She is through and cares about her patients health. She does expect you to invest in your own health. She does have a strong temperament. But that’s what makes her a go getter and strong, take charge type of doctor that she is. I want her in my corner. My husband is a trial lawyer and has the same personality. You would think they would clash but they don’t. He recognizes that dr Tobin has his best interest in mind. She can also get him to take care of himself when he otherwise would not. We’ve been going to her several years but After our first visit my husband turned to me and said “I think she really cares about me.”

I have been a patient of Dr. Tobin's for several years and cannot believe what has been written. She is the first doctor with whom I feel am completely comfortable. I can only speak from my own experience but find she has a great disposition, warm demeanor and sincere caring for her patients. She has a great deal of knowledge and communicates directly and with kindness. She has taught me how working together I can be a healthier person. I feel as if we were're team working on my healthcare. There isn't anything more I can ask of a her. I thank her for advice I have received over the years.

You would be crazy not to avail yourself of her services!

While reading some of these reviews I felt like I could've written them. Dr. Tobin is indeed condescending and thinks highly of herself, even as she gives bad advice and over prescribes tests, medications and specialist visits. She can talk to a grown, educated person like they are a 4 year old child and discount their opinions and thoughts if they disagree at all with her own, even though several time she has been proven to be wrong. God forbid you question her advice or challenge her thinking (which were later proven to be wrong). That's when I really got to see her true colors and decided to fire her!

Dr. Tobin made me feel belittled and treated me like a child throughout the entire visit. I have never in my life experienced a doctors visit like this before. I would not recommend her to my worst enemy. I cannot believe she has repeat patients with such a horrendous bedside manner. In all seriousness I would NOT see this woman.

tobin is the worst doctor i ever met. she demands more unwanted tests that i always end up paying myself, bcz insurance doesn't cover all those tests. her hospital staff is not user friendly, except one asian receptionist. for physicals, tobin ordered multiple unwanted x-rays tests. when i asked why, she replied "in the better interest of patient". what an evasive response? for any RX including, cold, allergies, bp, sugar, she demands frequent visits to her clinic and never gives refill to rx, despite multiple requests. she cares only money. more visits more money. i feel like in a trap of money sucking honey bees waiting for patients. i never recommend tobin.
