Dr. Lee Ann Gee, MD

I've been seeing Dr. Gee for quite some time, and I've found her kind, gentle, considerate, professional and exceptionally helpful in guiding me out of the mental crevasse of major depression. She's also worked to understand a serious underlying disease that greatly impacts my moods and feelings of self-worth while finding a medication "cocktail" that's bringing me back to a sane centerpoint. I simply cannot understand one star ratings for her. No single clinician can be what each and every patient wants or needs. If a patient isn't satisfied and cannot come to an agreement regarding treatment, they are free to move on to another therapist.

Zero stars for lack of empathy and victim-blaming Dr. Lee Ann Gee clearly lacks appropriate training to understand that trauma, especially attachment trauma, affects one's worldview and impacts present life functioning. Pretending that the past doesn’t exist doesn’t work because trauma is stored in the brainstem and influences outlook and emotional and behavioral responses. As a medical specialist, she should have been better informed on the neurological impact of trauma. Furthermore, Dr. Lee Ann Gee is culturally-incompetent and does not understand how one's culture and religious upbringing influences values and behaviors. In fact, she does not care to understand it either. Dr. Lee Ann Gee is the only professional whom I have ever left a session after just starting it. Do not see Dr. Lee Ann Gee.

A couple of years ago, this doctor was referred to me, as my psychiatrist was retiring, whom I had been with for 30 plus years. I thought the transition would be simple, and I had a list of all my prescriptions. In a quick second, she informed me she would not prescribe my Xanax. I was so angry. A waste of time. Very quick visit....I pay, of course ! I did not like her sharp personality. Now my current doctor is retiring, and she is on his list of short referrals. I recommend anyone to look elsewhere, not to Dr. Lee Ann Gee. Connie Crosky
