Dr. Lee Eban Hindin, MD

As I recall my very first visit with this dr. was pleasant and comforting. He was very caring for my needs of medication for my MDD. Prescribed me some good meds. Though over the years, for some reason these meds, zoloft, for one and something else was backfiring on me. so he gave me a psychotropic med in which freaked me out. and I was getting very frustrated at these awful side effects that were making me lose my mind. I went to a visit one day nd I was very on edge, feeling like I was having those parkinson-like symptoms that were damaging my mind body and putting me in the most dreadful spirits. he knew I was unstable to drive myself to hospital. said he was taking me to Hackensack Hosp because since I'm not jewish I can't go to a jewish hospital, I can understand that even though it sounds discriminating but then I can see that it's like an american can't work in a Chinese restaurant if you're not chinese. Yeah that would make me look stupid.

As a medical professional, I have been consistently impressed with Dr. Hindin's knowledge and clinical instincts. He is genuinely caring, and has extensive experience. In addition to his skill at general psychiatry, his expertise in addiction is unrivaled.

Dr Hinden is a rare find. He took time with me, his patient., and was always eager to help. He also has a good sense of humor, is at ease with himself, his patient, his medicine and therapy,

I have been under Dr. Hindins care for around 10 years. I found him after going through numerous psychiatrists who couldn’t help and sometimes caused more harm than good. Dr. Hindin was the only doctor who took the time to talk to me and really understand me... not just look at a diagnostic code and throw meds my way. He goes above and beyond. He has never once let me down. You leave his office feeling good. He takes time with you, builds rapport, has a great sense of humor! I without hesitation would recommend Dr. Hindin to anyone who is struggling. He’s the best.

He seemed like a serious and caring, though rigid and uninspired, psychiatrist when we met with him. He prescribed this mefication. We told him the patient was experiencing Parkinson's symptoms, and when Dr. Hinden showed no interest in these symptoms, we went to neurologist in Manhattan for an evaluation. The neurologist concluded that the medication Hindin had prescribed was causing these symptoms and sent Hindin a letter recommending that he change the mefication. I expected we would hear from Hindin in a matter of days and was appalled that he NEVER contacted us.I would never have expected this from him. We immediately switched doctors and brighter and more committed psychiatrist who discontinued the medication immediately. On this alone I recommend that people keep away from Hindin.

Good lister, better memory, takes an interest. Could spend a little more time, stick to a tight schedule and sometime you need a bit more time.

Dr. Hindin is a great guy, and one of the more intelligent people I have the pleasure of speaking with every month or two. I'm a bit of a stubborn patient when it comes to meds, but he puts up with it and offers other various solutions with a real-world view of the possible side effects. (Don't read the web too much or every prescription seems really bad/dangerous.) Anyway, use this great doctor if you have the chance.

I was not properly checked or diagnosed and was left without a reply or referral when calling for 3 days in a crisis. I would not recommend this Psychiatrist.

I have been seeing Dr. Hindin for approximately 2 years since my previous doctor passed away. He is very intelligent and has highly developed critical thinking skills. I am very impressed that he actually types real-time notes during our sessions and reviews them at the start of each new session. You would think this should be the norm but has not been my experience with previous doctors.
