Dr. Lee M Kornfield, MD

I saw this man many years ago about a sinus problem. He questioned me briefly about the sinus issue, but devoted most of the 15 minutes I spent with him asking about my gynecological health -- I told him I routinely saw a gynecologist. He left the room without saying anything, then his nurse came in and told me to the strip to the waist so the doctor could listen to my heart and lungs. She gave me the equivalent of a paper bib to wear, and then the doctor returned, and creeped me out. He asked when I'd had my last pelvic exam, and told me that he was as qualified as my gynecologist and could do that exam then and there. I refused, and he looked genuinely upset. He prescribed a drug that gave me terrible nightmares, and I never returned.

I found this internist to be unprofessional with a poor bed-side manner. I only treated with him for less than 2 years. He made what I considered to be inappropriate remarks on several occasions, he never knew anything about my history or chart before each visit, and treated me like I had the problems and concerns of an 80 year old. I'm in my 40's. During my last unpleasant visit with him, I asked the nurse if I could transfer care to a female physician in the office as we did not seem to be a good fit. When she checked, she was told by the front office that this "was never allowed because it insults the doctors." Thinking this was odd, and already not happy, I told them I would likely seek care elsewhere. I could not get into a new doctor for several months and Dr. Kornfield then refused to prescribe existing medications until I could transfer care. I'm not sure if this is legal, but it certainly appears to be unethical and poor patient care. Since when are doctor's spiteful in… their professional handling of patients? Very, very poor experience here.

HE is a GREAT DOCTOR! His new office at the ELKS is very nice as well.

Dr. Lee Kornfield should not be practicing. He is unprofessional and negligent as well as a real grouch to work with. He is the worst doctor I have ever known about. He is awful!
