I will help you explore these factors in a non-judgmental way to assist in your improvement. There are many degrees and varieties of mental health as well as illness. Assistance or treatment, therefore has to be individualized.

Parenting is one of the most important roles. It is very challenging, but usually quite rewarding. Any type of illness or disability in a child can have the potential to be overwhelming to the parent and push a couple to its limits. I enjoy working together with individuals, children and families to assist in identifying solutions. Initially I evaluate many factors that contribute to the presenting problem. These include sleep, diet, exercise, medical conditions, personality issues, and substances. The treatment plan can include any combination of psychotherapy, …medication, guidance on lifestyle changes, among other things. I look forward to working together with you.

I have seen many psychiatrists. All of them except Dr. Pravder gave up on treating my rapid-cycling mixed state bipolar disorder. I was losing hope and then saw Dr. Pravder who got me on the right meds. Now 12 years later I am stable and content. I would never see another psychiatrist. No one knows more than Dr. Pravder and you cannot find a more caring and compassionate physician.

Dr. Pravder allows me to validate ; trust my judgement. When I am conflicted , overwhelmed, or ignoring my "instincts"... he adroitly guides me to a "teachable moment". I have been a patient of Dr. Pravder for over 30 years. He is knowledgable, professional and knows medical management. I went to many psychiatrists before I found Dr. Pravder and his management of my bipolar has allowed me to live a fulfilling life including a highly successful career and raising two wonderful children. Dr. Pravder is a very kind and caring psychiatrist with an exceptional understanding of drug therapy. He is extremely thorough and responds personally and promptly. Dr. Pravder's efforts have gone over and above any doctor I have seen in Florida; he has my uppermost trust and respect.

Dr. Pravder runs on time, listens, and knows his medications - everything you want in a doctor. I was suffering from depression and with some trial and error he found the right meds combo for me. And he doesn't overmedicate. Would highly recommend.
