Leena Varkey Maramattom, MD

I’ve seen Dr. Varkey every four months since my last doctor moved. On three occasions, I’ve been asked to slip into a cape by an assistant after vitals taken. When I asked why, was told to be examined for breast cancer. I don’t have breast cancer, I have a blood disorder. On my most recent visit, I requested written scripts because of new prescription coverage. Was told one of the meds I requested wasn’t prescribed by her. After looking at my chart, agreed it had been prescribed previously. Had to look at my chart. Asked that she provide a signature for disabled parking. Suggested I was asking her to commit fraud. So much for treating the whole patient. Walking is difficult for me because of bad knees. My orthopedist does not wish to do surgery because of blood thinner prescribed for blood disorder. My internist did accommodate. Called after said appt. Requested to speak to Dr. Varkey. No return call. Have scheduled next appointment with another doctor. I have no… doubt that she is educated, but red flags have risen.

Dr. Varkey takes great care to ensure that you understand your diagnosis and treatment. She never makes me feel rushed at my appointments and takes time to answer all of my questions.
