Dr. Leila Haddad Zackrison, MD

I was sick for a couple of years and I saw different specialist for my different symptoms. No one ascertained why I felt so sick, dizzy, and exhausted. I was awake for two hour increments at a time, sleeping for five hours in between. I had no life. No one was able to help me, nor was I diagnosed. I wasn't taken seriously by any of the doctors that I saw. My, now, healthy, friend, who had seen Dr. Z for her conditions referred me to her. Finally, I had answers and was under her care and treatment. Dr. Z tested my blood for a large amount of problems and she discovered a lot of problems! Hubby and I both have been SUCCESSFULLY treating with Dr. Z, me since 2015 and hubby since 2016, referred by a friend whom was successfully treated by her. Oh and hubby's prognosis by his Western drs was: abx for his constant lung infections, steroids, oxygen and then "can't do anymore for him". Dr Z has him off his inhaler on the 3rd day of her treatments, off oxygen use, off concentrator, never any steroids and he continues to maintain naturally. She confers with other Functional Med Drs., etc. to keep abreast of new and or improved holistic, alternative therapies, etc. for her patients.

Our family has seen Dr. Zackrison on and off since 2005. She is dedicated to patient care. When you are in an appointment she provides a full examination and asks questions, like doctors used to do (before the majority became Rx-pushing robots.) Yes, she does not accept insurance. Yes, she practices integrativev care. Yes she recommends herbs and IVs. You have to ask yourself, is what your doctor is doing now even working? Did they get the diagnosis right? Did they spend more than 10 minutes with you? Did they notice the glaring problem? Did they even read your medical history? Dr. Z has saved our family. She has diagnosed issues which result from chronic infection, with lab tests other doctors do not even bother to order. For example, she uncovered severe thyroid problems in my spouse, and reversed the problems. She is a sincere, caring and excellent physician we recommend highly.

Dr. Zackrison treated me for chronic lyme disease and co-infections. She is an extremely knowledgable and caring doctor. I had been to many before her and they had no idea of what to do or even what was wrong with me. I refer anyone I know who suffers with ill health. Dr. Zackrison gave me my life back.

When Dr. Z first began her practice in the original office and took insurance, I truly believe she was well intended. She then moved to a large office which she called Bone Health Diagnostics. Fast forward to dropping the bones and started selling supplements in her office and discontinued taking insurance. I paid for some medical records and managed to find that she even commented about a 'change in hairdo'....really??? I took months of antibiotics and never got any better. I paid out of pocket for costly lab tests. When I moved out of state and the MD I was then seeing requested medical records he was told to send $40. Usually, MDs will send records to other physicians free of charge. She wrote that she prescribed both Humera and another biologic drug that did the same thing. She did NOT! At one time, she sent me down the street to a concierge MD where I could be seen for a huge sum of a retainer. NO thanks. Chronic Lyme disease is quickly becoming a national… epidemic. It is sad, that Dr. Z has chosen to evolve into less a leader in that field and more of a money grubber.

Dr. Zachrison has suffered for treating patients the same way she treated me. She has always been a brave woman trying her best to help the people who come to her. She knows that the medical community does not have all the answers and so she tries to discover what works instead of treating patients by rote. I first went to Dr. Zackrison in 1996 and if not for her I would be a wreck. I had given up any real hope of being treated for swollen painful knuckles, terrible fatigue and systemic, widespread pain. I'd been going through that for 15 years. When I first saw her it was for my hips, which were so stiff that another rheumatologist had claimed I needed hip replacements until he saw the x-rays. When he saw no joint damage he sent me on my way. Dr. Zachrison was also initially rather dismissive, until I broke down in tears, at which point she questioned me closely then took me on as a patient. Her treatment gave me my life back.. She will experiment on you like a lab animal and ignore your after hours calls because they remind her that her treatment is not working and that hurts her ego. Beware, find a different doctor especially if you have lyme disease.

Dr. Zackrison has been treating me since 2005, when I was referred to her for Fibromyalgia. She recognized symptoms of a chronic Lyme Disease condition that had begun in 1981. She treats the whole body not just symptoms. Her recommended lengthy protocol that employed cutting-edge holistic care was successful for me. I now live in NC & maintain 6-month check-ups with her.
