Dr. Lelai Malca Ricks, MD

Dr. Ricks is an excellent doctor, she goes above and beyond. I highly recommend her, she went the extra mile for me and made me feel much better!

My fiance was a patient of Dr. Ricks. He refuses to see her any more because of her rudeness and constant misdiagnosis. He has a monthly prescription that must be refilled and lives in DC. Dr. Ricks will only see him in Baltimore. When he would come to see her, she would spend very little time with him, leave us sitting in the patient room for over 30 mins only for her to hand him a stick and tell him to swab himself, come back and look at him and prescribe some cream or pill without running any tests or getting a second opinion. When she calls to follow up with him she is rude. She cuts him off when he is trying to speak and even tho he has seen her multiple times for the same thing, she REFUSES to prescribe his medication until he travels all the way to Baltimore for her poor services. All she wants to do is get paid from his insurance which pays for each unnecessary visit. She is a poor doctor and I would not recommend her to anybody..not even my dog.

I have cronic headaches. I have seen Dr. Ricks several times to discuss this and possibly find a cure. She keeps telling me she doesn't know what is causing the headaches but not offering up any additional suggestions or scheduling additional follow-up with a neurologist, maybe? I spend too many nights awake due to these headaches. I think I will suggest to her that I should possibly follow up with a neurologist, I just need a referral for my insurance.

Having Dr. Ricks as a GP was a generally horrible decision. Although she is young and not very experienced, Dr. Ricks seemed more interested in getting me out the door than providing me with thorough health service.I had a worry that I had a rectal health problem. not only could she not find what my concern was (which i could find easily). she rescheduled me for an anoscopy to do further searching. moments before i was going to get looked at she informed me (did not ask me) that there had to be a giant male nurse who watched her do the anoscopy, which is kind of a private matter.she said there was nothing wrong, with a second opinion it turns out i have a strain of HPV that needs treatment. Her curt and distanced manor made me feel she didn't care if I was sick or not.
