Dr. Lena Elizabeth Johnson, MD

"Dr." Lena Johnson now works at the VA clinic in Viera, FL. She cares nothing for her patients, has a very condescending/creepy demeanor, and makes it very difficult to complete even simple tasks. Prior to using the VA Clinic as my primary care, I had been with the same 'medical provider' for fourteen years. I'm not one to change docs. I could not get away from this individual fast enough. From the first zoom meeting, the strange affect and lack of sincerity shined. This individual should not be providing care for anyone, much less veterans. Just my opinion, but this is the worst experience I have had with anyone in the medical establishment.

Great atmosphere, you don't feel rushed

She is a very trusted and reliable Dr I trust with my care. She is very compassionate and knowledgeable.

I called to get my cholesterol meds refilled. I went a few months ago and had exam, blood work done. I was told I can NOT get my meds because I have to come to serve the doctor again . That is ridiculous. Policy is I have an appointment on the books and see doctor again . The woman on staff who called me was extremely rude. All they want is to make unnecessary appointments to make $$. I told her that I will be changing doctors. She wanted to argue and make sure I knew the policy..she.could care less if doctor was losing a patient.

I made an appointment to see Dr. Lena to follow up on a few things and also ask questions on a few concerns I had. In the few times I've seen her I found her to be pleasant and a doctor who listened to my concerns. However, my last appointment I found her to be very rude and condescending. I was constantly cut off when talking and felt that my concerns were not even being taken into consideration. I actually felt that she didn't want to get involved with pursuing some of my concerns. During the appointment I informed her I was upset with her attitude which I take as a lack of professionalism, and I got up and left … I will not be going back … I have previously worked in the health care field and I prefer a doctor who continuously shows compassion towards her patients, not someone who makes me feel like my concerns are insignificant and don't matter.

She should refuse a patient if she is going to refuse to actually manage their health properly.

Dr. Johnson and her staff are rude, inconsistent and unorganized. It's all about money with her. She only gives you 15 minutes to discuss one issue. I have multiple chronic conditions. She doesn't examine you and pays more attention to her computer then she does to her patient. Dr. Johnson ordered some lab work for me. When I went to the lab they pointed out to me that the paperwork Dr. Johnson had given me was for someone else. I had an non-refundable co-pay to the lab. When I returned home I immediately called Dr. Johnson's office. Dr. Johnson called me back that afternoon and asked me the name of the person so she call her and let her know about the problem. She never called the woman or took responsibility for the error. Ever hear of HIPPA laws. I will never trust her or her office with my personal health care or records.

I made appt for a yearly physical and didn't feel Dr. Johnson was thorough. In fact, she had me make a second appt to return for a pap smear and at that appt told me that the new guidelines for a person my age is a pap smear once every 5 yrs. She ordered lab tests and sent me to a lab that is not on my insurance so the costs were out-of-pocket for me.
