Dr. Lenora Blanche Sampson Williams, MD

This was my 3rd IUD insertion and I have a lot of anxiety with this procedure since my anatomy makes the insertion extremely painful. I was a new patient and had a first great impression of Dr. Williams, but come time for the procedure, she didn't even review my ultrasound images (I asked her about what she thought about the images she ordered and she asked "what images"), reviewed the images for 3 seconds and proceeded to place the IUD improperly. When I had to have the IUD removed 2 wks later and reinserted I was crying and had to stop mid procedure due to anxiety (I wasn't prepared to have the procedure done that day). I asked her what should I do and she just said "you're all set" then left me alone crying. She didn't even have a patient right after me; I watched her leave the clinic with her coat on right behind me. I will not be going back to her

If you suspect you have endometriosis, I recommend seeking another doctor. Dr. Williams advised me that birth control would manage my endometriosis symptoms (after an ultrasound and MRI showing large endometriomas). I had to be firm about wanting surgery - which she still questioned saying the doctors "all had really busy surgical schedules." She undermined my pain and concern by asking if I had "been on the internet." I had surgery with another doctor and was diagnosed with stage 4 endometriosis. She was going to send me away with birth control.

When answering questions I really didn't care for her condescending attitude.

Not having been to a Gynecologist in years, I was apprehensive, but as I have a health situation currently, seeing such a doctor was essential. I found this diminutive doctor a delight to meet. She not only seems knowledgeable, but polite and has a sense of humor, as well. If it means anything to anyone, as it does to me, Dr. Williams has a good handshake. Not wimpy at all. To me that spells self-confidence, so important in a doctor. I'm just getting started with her, but anticipate seeing her for other times as we resolve my vaginal issues, suspected possibly in the uterus. The plan for getting to the bottom of things has been laid out.

I stopped going for yearly appointments at Ellington OBGYN because the APRN Diane was so disrespectful and unprofessional. She lectured me about my relationship with my boyfriend for the majority of the appointment, which I felt was definitely outside the scope of sexual health. She made a lot of grossly inaccurate assumptions about my life because I am 23 years old. In reality, I'm an intelligent person with a college degree, so I was very offended and upset to be treated like an idiot. I would normally keep my opinions to myself, but it was such an unpleasant experience to be lectured about my life by a woman whose never met me before. I am much happier at another practice. I've heard good things about Dr. Williams, but her APRN cannot connect with women in their 20s at all. If you just want yearly OB/GYN exams, go somewhere else.

This Dr. practices a horrible form of labor delivery. She will stick her fingers inside of you while you are pushing the baby out. Ouch! and make you lay flat on your back. I have had her cut me with scissors without prior notification or consent. She seemed to take great pride and joy in my suffering with my recent deliver and would ignore repeated requests to "stop" causing pain with her probing. I sure hope she realizes that her big fat ego is not a reason to treat another human being less than a pet dog. Stay away from her! Do yourself a favor

I like Dr. Williams o.k. but my yearly appointment is always the same. I have to allott at least 1-1/2 hrs. She always comes in apologizing for keeping me waiting so long. The last appt. was unbelievable. I arrived 10 minutes early for my 11:45 a.m. appt. The doctor did not come in to see me until after 1 p.m.!!!!! I might add that it was not busy. There was only one other person in the waiting room. Also, it was so cold in there that now I am sick after sitting there with no clothes on in the freezing temperature. This is unacceptable to me.

After becoming pregnant with my third child and finding out that my unborn baby was going to be born with birth defects, my husband and I did not feel comfortable with the care I was recieving from another office. Someone recommended Dr. Williams, and she was a life saver for not only myself but a beautiful baby girl. She is a patient and compassionate doctor who will address all of your concerns. Even though the birth of our daughter was complicated, she and the staff made the birth the most beautiful and stress free exerience for us. My husband got to "cut the cord" even though she was born c-section. I got to touch and see my baby immediately and they didn't wisk her away from me until i felt comfortable enough that she was doing well. No one made us feel that our daughter was strange for having her malformations, they celebrated her beauty with us. My husband and I cannot say enough about her and her loving staff.
