Has no interest in helping women. I was in a major injury car accident 4/1/23. I had fractured a rib, my shoulder and sternum. I was advised that I needed PT for my shoulder, and was referred to Dr Leo Calafi at Golden State Orthopedics by my primary. He barely made eye contact and after looking at my x-ray immediately dismissed me and told me I didn't need to do anything. He didn't even bother to give me an handout with exercises to do at home. 7 months later and I still have pain, and have limited movement and a Frozen shoulder now. I had to find my own Qualified, well respected Orthopedic Surgeon. After an MRI and X-Ray, I was promptly sent to a Physical Therapist. The 2nd doctor I saw, asked who I had seen at Golden State Orthopedics. When I told her that it was Calafi, she shook her head and said that she had heard this before with women patients. He clearly dislikes and dismisses females, as he does not want to work with them. I should have started physical therapy as soon… as my bone was healed.

Dr Calafi is an excellent orthopedist that took care of my broken ankle as best as possible , he and his team did everything possible to fix my leg , he is professional , honest , trustworthy and professional , I highly recommend him .

I had a broken leg , Dr Kalafi and his team took care of my broken leg as best as possible ,and now it is completely healed Dr Kalafi is very professional and very knowledgeable ,Orthopedist, breaking bone is a very painful and disabling situation , Dr Kalafi and his team made this painful situation as pleasant as possible , I highly recommend him and his team to anyone that needs orthopedic treatment.

Dr Calafi was great. He explained things in detail answering all my questions and concerns. He was patient but pushed me when I needed it. It took care to make an incision that healed leaving almost no scare. I’m grateful for his promptness, care and concern for not only my shoulder and arm but for future possible breaks by sending me to the bone clinic.

I am a recent hip surgery patient who had the privilege of spending some time on Dr. Calafi's operating table. Dr. Calafi exceeded my expectations in every way. He is a genuinely brilliant surgeon and anyone fortunate enough to be treated by him can rest easy knowing that you will receive the highest possible quality of care. He is something special.
