Dr. Leo George Dorozynsky, MD

Dr. Dorozynsky is one of the very best kinds of physicians. He listens to what I have to say and he considers my opinions. He gives me some responsibility for managing my care, and treats me with an abundance of respect. I am not just another patient for him; I am someone who has been living with depression for many, many years, and I am always actively searching for ways to improve the quality of my life - he is a great assistant and guide to that effort, which gives tremendous weight to his opinion. I am so thankful to have found him. The only reason I've given him less than 4 stars for diagnosis is because I've had this diagnosis for many years, and it is spot on. Additionally, as an adult - I follow up with him.

I came to Dr. Dorozynksky diagnosed as Bipoloar II with extreme PTSD. Instead of putting me on Bipolar II medication, he put me on an SNRI, which made me worse (i found out, as SNRIs do, it was lowering my seizure threshold), I begged him to take me off of this SNRI and put me on a Bipolar II drug such as Lamictal or Topomax- he laughed at me, told me I didn't know what I was talking about, and said my only option was to double my dosage. Now I have permanent seizures, but my new psychiatrist has me on both Lamictal & Topamax which have both stopped the seizures, and are successfully treating my Bipolar II. I, however, have permanent brain damage now, and cannot come off the effect, not even taper down 37.5 milligrams without going into a psychosis and going into seizure activity. Thanks, Leo.
