He earned his MD at SUNY Upstate Medical University, graduating at the top of his class and serving in leadership roles in AOA. He completed residency training at NYU’s …Institute of Reconstructive Plastic Surgery, training under many leaders in the field, and pursued an advanced pediatric plastic and craniofacial fellowship and adjunct faculty role at USC/Children’s Hospital Los Angeles for additional specialized experience.
Dr. Urbinelli went on to serve as Assistant Professor, Chief of Pediatric Plastic Surgery, and Co-Director of the Cleft and Craniofacial Program at Oregon Health & Science University/Doernbecher Children’s Hospital, where he led program growth and high safety and outcome rankings. After founding and building a successful private practice in the Pacific Northwest, he returned to Upstate New York in 2024 to offer world-class, individualized surgical care locally. He emphasizes a bespoke, non–“one size fits all” approach—treating patients like family and striving for natural, reproducible results tailored to each patient’s needs.
