Dr. Leon Hoffman, MD

This is reposted after Hoffman’s 1st treatment of child. Incompetence now apparent. Now 2-3 years hence - many serious issues. I am not a professional and do not know exact ways he exacerbated situation. I report the past, and what has occurred since. I believe they are related. I say what I know and have evidence, or else to be honest, it is my assumption. In past: – Refused to give me diagnosis so that I could help and be guided on how. Did not provide information as “therapy” progressed.Seldom replied but offered terse comments like “he is OK.” - Did not always reply. It was useless. Think of the evil incompetent that would do this. – Response on child’s situation were different each time. Said anything to get me off his back. Saved all emails to show this chain of deception. –Hoffman met with ex and me. He released confidential information about child. Child did not know personal secrecy was compromised. (A teenager – would have been appalled). – Ex paid for Hoffman. When I… requested information he deferred to ex who was violating custody agreement. Hoffman said his lawyer advised him not to provide information without ex’s permission. (I am no lawyer - but you get the lie.) I had joint custody. He put up roadblocks and legalisms. Finally had lame statement that he was about to write me - after I reported to state. Was he lying?! - Little doubt of collusion between ex and Hoffman. This was my fault. I was pressured to use him by ex and caved in. Option presented to me was no one else!!! Was he pre-screened to be able to control? Blackmail - Illegal according to agreement. I believe ex was able to direct him and receive information. – Unprofessional on phone, including yelling at me! (Think of that.) Inability to manage emotions. (He is licensed?!) – He would not agree to another meeting, or meeting with me and child. Assume ex would not permit it. (Not assuming here he stated as much.) – 2 periods of treatment. Child refused to go after first. Was convinced second time. I have seen threats, intimidation and manipulaiton. Ex had me help trick child to go to him by driving him to subway. My crime. - Hoffman and ex asked me for time to treat child - I should wait for results. Year later - a hoax. Child’s situation got far worse during treatment, though he persisted and said otherwise. – MAYBE THE WORSE OUTCOME (I do not know full extent – Hoffman hid it) is that child has severe parental alienation. Hoffman is not all responsible, but supported ex who is. He had to see it, was told about symptoms (though I was not aware of Parental Alienation then) and, as I told him, symptoms got worse while child was seeing him. He denied and ignored. Professional and articles tells me this is damaging and could be for life. It is heartbreaking to limit a child. Forutnately mine is smart and brave and fighting. - Do not subject your child to abuse. Interview providers before. Insist (in writing) on regular FULL briefings and written reports. Once your child passes eighteen, as mine, child will go on with the damage, and you must hope they find their way and offer to help them. – Complained to state, though they are limited in action. Hoffman sent a note to me not on the complaint and mocking me by saying nothing: "I was about to write." Can you believe it? – Child, now twenty, had courage to reach out and had good interaction with me. -Ex did not tell me about a hospitalization and three recent severe incidents. Hid truth about everything. I believe some relates to alienation Hoffman supported, issues not addressed for child, and, inability or incompetence to see far worse symptoms now apparent. – Child again shows signs of alienation or behavior not helpful to him with other severe issues. Ex got HIPAA permission after and refuses to tell me anything about child’s condition after being hospitalized. I had HIPAA permission, but it was revoked – I believe due to manipulation and threat. CAN YOU BELIEVE ex hiding the life-depending info about the child? Is that evil? – Parents, I implore you to seek competent help for your children.

I saved all emails to see this chain of deception. 3 – Record/issue used a by ex, and I think Hoffman to show child that his personal information is not being released. (Which I did not seek.) Ironically – Hoffman had a meeting with ex and me in which he released demining information that child had told child. Child did not know child’s personal secrecy was compromised by Hoffman. But in the end, I was positioned and wanting to get into the child’s business – which was a shameful deception to make. 4 – Did not provide ongoing information on child as “therapy” progressed – how to help, what were the issues – despite Hoffman being told that there were profoundly serious… issues. He NEVER replied but offered terse comments like “he is OK”. 5 – Ex paid for Hoffman. When I requested information (above) he deferred to ex who was violating the custody agreement. Hoffman said his lawyer advised that he did not have to provide information without ex’s permission. Whether true or not, I have little doubt there was collusion. He persisted despite being told and shown legal child custody agreement. (This was my fault I was pressured to allow Hoffman to be psychiatrist in second custody agreement and caved in!!!) 6 – Unprofessional on phone, including getting exacerbated at my caring parental questions on how to help child. He even yelled at me once! Shows inability to manage emotions. 7 – Hoffman would not agree to another meeting, or meeting with child. He insisted if another meeting it would be with ex. However, I was, lied to and misled about the entire thing, so even when told that would not help child – Hoffman insisted. 8 – Were two periods of treatment. Child refused to go after first period. Was somehow convinced second time. Hoffman and ex asked for time to treat child and that I should wait for results that would be for child’s benefit. Child’s situation got far worse during Hoffman’s treatment – though he persisted and said otherwise. 9 – MAYBE THE WORSE OUTCOME (I still do not know full extent – Hoffman hid it) is that the child has severe parental alienation. Hoffman is not totally responsible – that was ex. However, he had to see it, was told about symptoms (though I was not aware of the term Parental Alienation at the time) and, as I told him, symptoms got worse while child was seeing Hoffman. Hoffman denied. I am told that this is damaging to the child and could be a long term or life issue. The symptoms child has are detailed in highly regarded studies on Parental Alienation. In sum, the child was damaged. It is heartbreaking to the alienated parent. I only hope I can help and reverse the damage that the child has suffered. This was abetted by Hoffman. Please do not subject your child to this provider. Check out many providers before sending your child. Insist (in writing if you can) on regular FULL briefings. Do not decide on provider with any doubts. I was given no choice by ex – and I regret not fighting greatly. Once your child passes 18, as mine has done, the child will go on with the damage, and you have to hope they find their way and offer to help them. It gave Hoffman an out to discuss the issue responsibly.

He is incredibly transphobic and essentially did conversion therapy on me for three years when I was a child. He traumatized me and really f***ed up my childhood. He gave me major depression and caused me to attempt suicide multiple times. He deserves to have his medical license revoked.

he manipulates and belittles innocent people, using his professional status to insult individuals he believes are "lesser". Leon's ego unfortunately overwhelms his professionalism.
