Dr. Leona Liyuan Chen, MD

I have been seeing Dr. Chen for the past three years. She is a superb doctor who does thorough, careful examinations -- and who patiently explains what she is doing and why, helping patients understand what is going on. She listens, asks smart questions, and invests time and thought in her patients. In my experience, this is not common in patient-doctor interactions.

I have been going to Dr. Chen for years and she advised I needed to have a necessary medical procedure on my eye lids. I went to a plastic surgeon not in her office who did a great job. When I requested a letter of medical necessity to submit to my insurance company I found out that she had not performed (or told me to have performed) required tests. In other words she said I needed to have the operation, but never performed the test to verify it. Shame. This after many many years.
