Dr. Leona Arica Miller, MD

We were searching for a new doctor close to where we have moved. Dr. Miller will not be that choice. Rude, curt, denigrating, and condescending. Having an almost 20 year career in healthcare, I was appalled. She might want to think about some time off to explore what she really wants to do, because I saw no evidence that she enjoys her work or her patients. She presents a risk for the organization who employs her simply because patients who don't feel their doctor cares about them are patients who sue. Poor communication skills, in a hurry, did not explain all the meds she was prescribing. Failed to supply the sleep-aid I so urgently requested. The practice where she works, Urgent Care in the Steel Creek area of Charlotte, NC, is very poorly managed. It took me almost a week to talk to a clerk, who lied to me several times. My advice - look for another doctor/practice!

Dr. Miller is on time, caring and very straight forward. She is everything a doctor should be!

Extremely knowledgeable and ultimately sensible regarding options and outcomes. Refreshing to find a doctor who makes the effort to relate with the patient

Dr. Miller seemed like a friendly, caring healthcare professional. After only a few visits with her and phone relayed messages I was totally disappointed in her ability to assess my health history and offer of thoughtful responses to my needs. In my opinion she has acted in less than a professional manner and would not trust her to care for anyone with more than very simple medical issues.

I chose this office out of convenience to my daily travel for work. Dr. Miller was very brief and borderline unprofessional. She entered the room and obviously had not reviewed my new patient document. It has been a while since I visited any doctor and was looking for a regular doctor after moving back to the area. This was the least thorough exam I have ever had and most inconsiderate doctor I have ever encountered. Bed side manner must not have been taught during her training. This was very disappointing to say the least. Now, considering my insurance provides one routine physical per year, this year was wasted by Dr. Miller. I do not recommend Dr. Miller and will not be returning for my fasting labs. She could also be overheard outside the exam room exclaiming about the type of insurance I had plus being a new patient. This was after the "exam" so I don't feel that it had any influence on the poor service. I really wish I had seen these reviews prior to making my appointment.

First of all, I am a very caring, understanding, and unbiased person, but the service I received from Dr. Miller was absolutely awful. The name of their group "Primary CARE Specialist" has the would "care" in it for a reason; doctors are suppose to genuinely be concerned about their patients well being and health. Dr.Miller did not show once ounce of concern for my issues--if anything I had a feeling that she was not taking me seriously at all. I presented issues to her after being checked out by a student, extreme fatigue, back aches etc which is not normal for a otherwise healthy 26 year old. She then asked me some questions all the while I felt like she was not taking me serious at all--which was indeed comfirmed when she told me that she was going to take some blood samples and that they would call me if there are any problems. AND THAT WAS IT. "Call me if there are any problems???"... No "we'll schedule a follow up appointment and we can go from there with the results?" Where the… heck is the CARE in that. She wasted my time and my money. And indeed something was wrong with me, if she would've CARED to look at my history she probably would've figured out what was wrong with me (provided that she has the knowledge to figure things out like this). Needless to say I'm having to schedule surgery that requires 2 weeks down time and I'm suppose to start pharmacy school in less than a month. Second of all the office staff was awful. "I" had to say something to the unprofessionally dressed front desk "person" after standing there 5 minutes with out them saying a word. I then had to tell them that I was a new patient and they told me to have a seat and they'd call me back up for some papers to fill out. Why couldn't they just give me the new patient forms right then and there. That would be more efficient of ALL of our time wouldn't it?? I would NEVER under any circumstances recommend them. And while they are in a somewhat nice shopping center their suite is awful.

Dr. Miller is a great doctor but the people who does the insurance and the telephone person is very rude and never answers the telephone or calls you back.
