Dr. Leonard Cohen, MD

I have been going to Dr. Cohen for years. I have never had any issues, and always receive the best care. He helped me get my asthma under control, and even when I was a child, spoke to me as an adult, fully explaining what was going on.

I tried to make an appt for my daughter. I apparently annoyed the nasty woman who answers the phone (ny accent) and was told after a few calls that "sometimes they do this but dr cohen isn't taking any appts for patients with swelling or hives...we are just too busy with our other allergy patients". I can't believe this woman hasn't been fired unless her name is Mrs. Cohen!

The doctor is okay - nothing extraordinary. The nurses are wonderful, caring, pleasant, polite and hard working. The secretary is very snippy and a most uncaring, rude, person who needs to learn manners. She makes the patients suffering worse with her rudeness.

Office is extremely concerned about your copay, seems to be the first priority. Secretary is extremely rude on phone and/or in person, heaven forbid you should not be able to make the first appointment offered.Nursing staff seems to be aware of the issue, but the doctor seems to be aware of and condone the behavior of the staff. Dealt with it for a while but will not return, no one should be mistreated when they are ill.

Dr. Cohen is an excellent allergist....unfortunately he has a disgruntled secretary who is by far the most unprofessional person I have ever dealt with. Dr Cohen lost me as a patient because of her. She was sooo rude and inappropriate on the phone that I felt I needed to tell her she was being rude. She then refused to make me an appointment saying, "you have to get through me first"!!!!! Then hung up on me!!! UNBELIEVABLE.

Dr. Cohen has now been my allergist for 15+ years. I am now a "young" sr. citizen and have been blessed with extreme allergies all of my life along with the joy of spending many of those years searching for the right fit with an allergist specialist. Dr. Cohen fits the bill.Dr. Cohen is always very enthusiastic when meeting w/his patients, and QUALITY time is spent with each. He is a superb diagnostician who is easy to speak with. Initial allergy testing is quick and easy, and once on a maintenance program, it's as if you do not have allergies at all!Why spend time with a "good" doctor, when you can visit this "great" doctor who has been honored with TOP 10 distinction for too many years. (I always check those lists prior to going to any new doctor.) I know you will not be disappointed, and neither have a couple of co-workers that I recommended.

I highly recommend Dr. Leonard Cohen of West Hartford. I have been his patient for 15 years. He is an excellent diagnostician and has helped me get asthma under control and keep it under control.
