Summary
After serving as Chief Resident at the Maine Medical Center, he began his career teaching at Michigan State University. He has a long-standing interest in integrating faith, spirituality, and psychotherapy. He has expertise in treating depression and other mood disorders, anxiety disorders, alcoholism/substance abuse, and various other disorders. In 2008, he co-founded the Asheville Jung Center ( www.ashevillejungcenter.org ), bringing internationally known Jungian speakers to a world wide audience via internet technology. He enjoys writing and is a frequent contributor to the Asheville Jung Center's blogs, book reviews.
In 2012, he and Dr. Buser established innerQuest Psychiatry and Counseling a group that quickly grew to five members.
Dr. Cruz serves as the Chairman of Institutional Review Board at Mission Hospitals. This committee overseas all non-cancer related research conducted at the Mission system. It is charged with protecting the rights of human subjects participating in …investigational studies.
He is also involved in the publishing industry and is the CEO & Editor-in-Chief of Chiron Publications www.chironpublications.com. Chiron Publications is a moderate sized press with over 140 titles specializing in subjects of Jungian Psychology, Depth Psychology, Mythology, and Spirituality. In 2013, Chiron released "HAUNTINGS: Dispelling the Ghosts who Run Our Lives" by bestselling author, Dr. James Hollis. Dr. Cruz and Dr. Buser plan to extend Chiron Publications to include other nonfiction and fiction books.
