Dr. Leonard David Gaum, MD

After getting thrown back n forth for 6mths between doctors regarding my extreme pain in my vaginal and abdominal area. Dr .gaum went out of his way to find out what was really causing my pain. The other doctors kept blaming my problems on other issues and made me feel like i was crazy. Dr.gaum really listened to me and took the extra step to find out what was truelygoing inside me. What was causing my problems could not be seen thru cat scan , mri, or ultra sounds.After talking to doctors to do a laparoscopy they had found adhesions had wrapped around my left ovary ( explained to my hubby that it is like your balls getting squeezed intensely) . unfortunately i lost my left ovary and they stuck a duraband in me hoping it would just grow on to that. Thank u so much Dr Gaum for listening and taking that extra step!

Leonard Gaum is an excellent doctor. He spends the time needed with his patients to explain things in detail. He answers all your questions and doesn't push you out the door because of time.

I didn't even know Dr. Guam who was called in for emergency surgery on my bladder. I first met him on my follow-up visit. He removed both stints with one motion and it was pain free!! I have never had a problem since. I'm not sure if he's a warm and fuzzy Doctor, but he does an excellent job!

I had a bad experience with Dr. Guam. I don't think he puts too focus on his patients. His staff was not as effective as a doctor office supposed to be. In other words, passing responsible from him to her; then to the Hosptial. Communication was bad in his office. I wasted my day at Mercy Hospital getting myself prepared to have an operation done in the afternoon. I have all the necessary procedures done, including IV, etc, but his nurse called the very last minute to cancel the whole operation. His nurse was very argumentative to proof she was right but I was wrong, during my preparation in the hosptial when I was in pain. Dr. Guam may be a very sucessful doctor in his career but he is one of the kinds of the doctor that won't serve the best interest to his patients. His staff only knows how to focus on their own interests, but no love and careness to the patients.
