Dr. Leonard Mark Gelman, MD

He does rounds at many nursing homes. He doesn't give his patients the time of day, he depends on the nurses to diagnose their patients before he will even acknowledge there is a problem and even then he doesn't address it as he should. He shows no compassion with his patients. He will write notes that he has seen and examined patients he has never even met. The patients he does see he doesn't even examine, he walks into the room and introduces himself as the doctor. Then he says just checking in, nice to meet you and walks out of their room. Doesn't even take out his stethoscope, yet he dictates a long note about their medical symptoms he is treating.

He was my primary care doctor for almost 20 years but he walked out of his exam room when I was telling him about a new symptom. Six weeks later I had a massive PE and was not expected to live through the night. He falls way short on communicating and diagnostic capability.
