Dr. Leonard Reed Moore, MD

Dr Moore treated me for actinic keratosis by prescribing Effudex cream. Followed instructions exactly, went to follow up visits while under treatment. Dr Moore was condescending and trivialized my extreme pain while I suffered from a hypersensitive reaction to the drug, never recognizing the damage that was being done to my skin. I went to see him on a Thurs, telling him the pain was unbearable...he actually told me to try watching a light-hearted movie to 'distract' me from the "discomfort"!!! On Friday, around 3 AM, my husband drove me to Stanford Emergency clinic, where I was treated with total respect, photos were taken of my entire face, and I was treated to the 3rd degree chemical burns I had sustained. Pain relief was prescribed. AND, I was asked to stay around for the next shift of residents and interns to view my face as a real life lesson in what NOT to do to patients. When I got home, Dr Moore had personally left a message on my home phone offering up burn dressings and… care...stating that he'd given my 'discomfort' consideration. How is THAT for 'Do NO Harm'?? It took nearly a full YEAR for my skin to completely heal. Clearly, I am not a good candidate for Effudex treatment...but you'd think a board certified Dermatologist with decades of experience just might listen & look...recognizing the obvious. Beware!
