Dr. Leonard William Mulbry, MD

Dr. Mulbry is also a forensic psychiatrist associated with the Medical University of South Carolina, and part of a team engaged in cognitive/social engineering research. His sessions with clients use a scrutiny approach instead of clinical, compassionate, insightful approach for diagnosis/therapy. In one case for a Disability Determination (PTSD, etc.), his report after three sessions indicated more than three contextual errors derived from statements that he altered or misunderstood. Among his conclusions, he determined the client's expressed rationalization of how difficulties are part of Christian/spiritual development and that based upon the client's experience with extraordinary difficulties, the client's assumption that these difficulties amounted to a real purpose worth tolerating. Dr. Mulbry concluded that the client's beliefs amounted to "grandiose personality tendencies." Upon further research, we found that Dr. Mulbry was among researchers in several social cognition… engineering studies funded by both NIH/NLM, NCI, and several private foundations grants awarded to MUSC/IOP.
