Dr. Smith is a 3rd generation Californian, born in Redwood City. He attended San Jose State College, where he majored in Biochemistry, and Northwestern University Dental School in Chicago. Dr. Smith served in the US Air Force as a Major in the Dental Corps, in Honolulu, Hawaii, where he completed his Residency in Dental Specialties. He has also completed basic and advanced training in Implant Dentistry, Cosmetic Dentistry and Sedation Techniques for Dentistry.
Dr. Smith returned to San Jose to start a Cosmetic and Implant dentistry practice in 1986. He is married and is an active triathlete and marathon runner, having completed the Boston Marathon and Hawaii Ironman Triathlon.
