The staff wanted to take my temp before I came into the office, but refused to wear a face covering when I asked her to. She stated that none of the people in the office or the Doctor wore masks, because they didn't "believe" in COVID, and then made some reference to numbers being faked. I am shocked to see this level of negligence from a medical professional.

My husband and I have had excellent care from Dr. Talarico and his nurse Amy for years! He has a caring attitude for his patients, and we don’t feel rushed.

I met with Dr. to replace my broken AFO brace. My brace at the time was a knee high stationary brace with one Velcro strap just below the knee that had broken at the ankle. During our appointment and conversation,Dr. brought out a sample of a smaller “just above the ankle” brace with several Velcro straps and explained to me that he thought this type of brace would work for me because he had great success with it in the past on other patients. He also explained it would have to be ordered from Arizona so it would take time before it would arrive in office. I left office after being fitted and paying a 315.00 co-pay. I continued to use my broken brace until the newly ordered braced arrived . Weeks later, I returned to office to pick up the new brace that had arrived there. Dr. strapped the brace on me and we had a quick little test walk of about 6-7 paces in office. I explained it felt very different from what I was accustomed but I would give it a chance. After a few days of use, the… new brace was causing pain to my knee and was difficult to put on due to the straps being adhered on the left side of my leg. I have left side paralysis due to a stroke. I had several appointments with a Physical Therapist to help with my knee pain caused by the new brace to help stop my knee from hyper- extending during my gate. The Therapist recommended that the brace was not adequate for my condition and that the original knee high brace that I originally wore. Should be more appropriate for my condition. Especially Since I had many years of success with it. I scheduled a new appt. with Dr. to explain my problems. When I returned to office for my appt. regarding the brace, Dr. agreed with the Therapist’s explanation and referred me to a clinic in Savannah that fits and produces my original type of brace. During this appointment, My wife and I expressed extreme concern that I would have to pay another co-pay of 315.00 to new Clinic to fit me for a new brace. and/ or that the insurance companies would not authorize payment for another replacement brace so soon after you were already paid for one. Dr. assured us that his notes would be detailed to explain to both the insurance company and the new clinic that Drs original prescription was not adequate for my condition. I was fitted and received my new brace from new Clinic and it has been performing well. I paid 94.00 co-pay to new clinic. I returned the original brace prescribed to Drs office as recommended by Dr. in case he had to return it to the manufacturer in Arizona. I have been calling office regularly to find out when I can receive a refund of my 315.00 co-pay for the brace I returned. Each staff member I’ve spoken with has told me to be patient that it takes time and they will contact me once the refund is approved by Dr.. I have never received a call from any staff or the Dr. It has now been several months without communicationotmail.com
