Dr. Leslie Mira Abromowitz, MD

I saw Dr Abromowitz for about 2 years when she worked at New Horizons in Pickerington. I always liked her and found her to great listener. I never had to repeat myself to her. She would look directly at me, not her computer screen like other doctor's. She always showed sympathy and was always honest with me. When she believed she had done all she could she passed me on to someone else she thought could help more. I'll always have respect for Dr Abromowitz and appreciate the effort she put forth while treating me.

Yesterday was the first time I met Dr. Abromowitz. I was impressed by her ability to calm my very ill husband down who is currently manic. He's not easy to handle, but she did so with ease.

Dr. Abromowitz is one of the best psychiatrists I have ever worked with, and I've seen quite a few in my 20 years in treatment. She is very knowledgeable about the conditions she treats and the medications she prescribes, and shares her knowledge. She takes time to explain her decision-making process when it comes to various treatment options she is considering. Also, she includes me in that process by giving weight to my opinion/preference when it comes to trying a new medicine, adjusting a dose, etc. I really value being made part of my own psychiatric care, as I value the inherent respect shown by her including me in decision making. She has prescribed medications that have helped my symptoms of PTSD and treatment-resistant bipolar depression, and her care has helped me more than that of any other psychiatrist. She may seem abrupt or short, but I know she really does care, and I think her demeanor is a result of a heavy work load and a brain that's always going strong. I would… recommend her to anyone struggling with mental health issues.
