Leslie Akram, DO

Went to Dr. Leslie Ackram in extreme pain looking for answers and relief. What I experienced was anything BUT that. Her and her assistant both had no empathy, sympathy, or any caring/nurturing side of them for me even though I came to them in tears and confused. Called a few days after the appointment and first spoke to the assistant on the phone questioning test results as I didn’t understand them.. she was extremely rude and didn’t listen to any of my questions or offer any sort of empathy or advice. Called a second time and requested to speak to Akram herself or anyone BESIDES her assistant and got Akram on the phone and was basically told I can’t receive any relief or comfort for the pain I’m in because they don’t want to be narcotic pushers (even though I’ve never taken them and have complained of excruciating pain 4 times or more now, even a shot of Toradol did nothing and rotating Tylenol and Advil ALSO did nothing) and that I can go see someone else if I’m still in pain or get… a laparoscopic surgery that (in the assistant’s words) “doesn’t guarantee any sort of pain relief and will take weeks to book and plan out anyways”. I’ve never felt my needs as a person in excruciating pain be so neglected by what is supposed to be a physician there to HELP me and offer guidance. Akram just kept trying to push a surgery onto me that I didn’t feel was a good resolution to figure out the source of the pain and she couldn’t offer any other guidance other than the exploratory surgery. Couldn’t be more disappointed what a waste of time will never go to this provider again.

I can't say enough great things about Dr. Akram. I met with her for the first time today and was impressed with the level of care I received. My wait time was short and her assistant was friendly and knowledgeable. Given that I was a new patient, she really took the time to get to know my medical history. She detected some potential abnormalities that another doctor had overlooked just a few months earlier. I will recommend Dr. Akram to my family and friends.
