Dr. Leslie Greta Goransson, MD

I showed up at Dr. Goransson’s office in complete misery. My case ended up being complicated, and she meticulously and expertly guided me to a state of remission where I have been for a while. She really cares about every med change and how it affects you, and she seems to know all the details about every conceivable med. She also has a confident but kind manner that gives you hope in a crisis. Can’t recommend highly enough.

Dr. Leslie Goransson has been my psychiatrist for 20 years and she is superb. She combines great knowledge of medications and med management with excellent, practical and actionable psychotherapy skills and suggestions. I have a tough case to handle, and she has gone above & beyond the call of duty -- faithfully answering emails, meeting with my wife and me on a couple of occasions; you name it. She is one of those really great doctors who combines knowledge with compassion and people skills. If I have any criticism at all it is that she has the profession's typical bias for FDA-approved psych meds over other solutions -- but even that bias is mitigated by her strong common sense and a pragmatic attitude towards whatever approaches work -- including acupuncture, TMS, you name it. Bottom line, I can't recommend Dr. Leslie Goransson highly enough.

Dr. Goransson is all the things you could want -- including being an excellent listener and diagnostician. She has a phenomenal grasp on the medications our society looks to psychiatrists to prescribe: for depression, anxiety, panic attacks, bipolar disorder, post-partum issues and so forth. The highest compliment I can think to give is that if my child needed a psychiatrist, Dr. Goransson would be my first choice, hands down.
