Dr. Leslie Stewart Massad JR., MD

My friend has a terminal diagnosis and at the visit with Dr. Massad, he told my friend that he would not treat her with chemo or radiation and that she should just let them admit her to figure out what her pain medicine should be so she can go home and die. The same day before the appointment, this doctor had sent her for a port insertion so she could begin chemo. He wanted to argue with me about the fact I had called and spoke to the chief of GYN Oncology the week before, returning 3 times to the room to basically tell me I was lying. The resident and fellow in the room already told me it was in my friends chart and they seen it. How can anyone make a decision to proceed or stop treatment when a physician is caught lying to them? I have never seen the likes of this kind of care and I would never recommend this doctor to anyone.

He is a disgrace to the medical profession. Zero ability to listen, zero ability to communicate anything other than anger and condescension. He was unusually violent and aggressive during pelvic exam. I tried to get his nurse to help me, but she turned her back. He clearly has no respect for women, and, in fact, seems perverse. He absolutely refused to consider my medical records or let me express the severity of my symptoms. He "guessed" I do not have cancer, but refused diagnostics to support his guess. I strongly discourage any woman from seeing this doctor, much less letting him touch you. He will disrespect you and violate your body. He should lose his license.

He frightens me

I'm very surprised at the reviews here since Dr. Massad is the best oncologist I've been to, but I understand people need a way to vent their frustrations of being sick with cancer somehow. He is certainly reserved and has a dry sense of humor, but I'm more interested in his diagnosis and ability to treat my cancer, which is unmatched. He really cares about me and is trying to help me get well but I know I have a set amount of time here with what is happening.... so I really appreciate his honesty. We set up a good treatment plan that I was comfortable with. I'd highly recommend him if you need someone for your gyn needs. I'm not looking for a best friend in a doctor, don't know why anyone would really, so I'd take these reviews with a grain of salt. I know he is curing me because I believe in his ability, we just have to be patient now.

Had a hysterectomy and nothing turned out good .. Two kidney stents and the cancer coming back within six months later had to get a different doctor after all the pain and suffering he wouldn't admit he did wrong.. Please don't take this doctor.. I worry about anyone going thru the same thing I went thru..

The staff at this office were incredibly rude. The doctor was over an hour wait to see me and hardly spent 10 minutes doing the physical exam. I was charged over six times as much as three other oncologists have charged me for the same procedure. I told his billing staff that they were overcharging me and they said that it did not matter. Guess what, to sick people, it matters when you over charge them! This doctor is stealing from cancer patients. I don't know how he sleeps at night. He should be ashamed of himself. He had the worst bedside manner. I felt terrible after seeing him and I will never go back. Please do not go to this doctor. If you have cancer or think you might, you need to go to someone that has a heart. Dr. Massad is the worst doctor I have ever been to. If I could give him no stars , I would.

Dr. Massad knows his way around the surgical table. He did great work and my vertical scar looks amazing just a short 2 months later. His knowledge of what's needed and way to get things accomplished was remarkable. I would refer or go back to him without hesitation. He was phenomenal. My surgery went far better than a friend who had the same thing done over a year ago and is still not recovered after several follow up surgery's. He is worth your time and attention!!!

I agree with the reviewer who said not to expect any chit chat and also agreed with the reviewer who called him a derogatory name. I was also that bothered by his coldness. After major surgery, he released me from the hospital with an rx for 30 vicodin with NO refills. His pain management was horrible. It as a brutal recovery with NO help from his staff, who implied I was a "drug seeker". Considering I have pain meds left over from other surgeries/injuries year ago, that's not an issue. End up throwing them away, ultimately. He insulted me upon discharging me, stating that "since you do not have cancer (I had a grapefruit sized ovarian cyst) I see no reason for your to be lurking around a cancer clinic"! I had been to the initial visit, the surgery and the follow up visit. LURKING? What the heck did that mean? I was there for a scheduled visit! And trust me, I was done with him by then. We found him to be cold, uncaring and less than cordial. The nurses hated working with him in… surgery as he was condescending and always had an anger to him. He stated to my nurse friend that his "name was Massad, rhymes with acid". That sounds just about right! There are other doctors just as competent as this one so steer clear!

I found Dr. Massad to be reserved and focused, but not cold. He seems to have a dry sense of humor so maybe the previous reviewer's experience was a personality clash. If you are expecting a chat about the weather or about the Cards a la your GP, find someone else. If you want a knowledgeable, professional, competent Gyn Onco, then Dr. Massad should be your choice. I would highly recommend him to family and friends.

No matter what you do, do NOT go to this doctor!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He does not care about his work or the patient. All he cares about is doing his "research" for his clinical studies. Don't be his lab rat! Cold, cold monster.
