Dr. Leslie A Swartz-Williams, MD

I came with a horrible sore throat and tried to explain all my symptoms, but the doctor doesn't seem to be interested at all. She rashed through an exam, barely looked at my throat. She didn't listen to my lungs (what kind of doctor doesn't listen to your lungs if you came with high fever, and barely can talk because of the sore throat?). She ordered some tests and told me that someone would call me later that day with the results. No one called me back for 3!!! days, even though I called several times per day and asked to call me back because I started to feel worse. When the nurse finally called from her office, she told me that I have to come and see the doctor again, and the only available appointment they have is in 2 days. Basically, I just wasted my time seeing this doctor and ended up going to urgent care. Finally, the most "pleasant" part of it, she billed me for $400 for a long office visit. The overall impression is that this doctor is completely unprofessional.

My first visit Dr SW was very organized and listened. I asked her about her ability to empathize with patients. It was clear she was not comfortable doing this but I needed a primary care Dr. Next meeting she was not the least empathetic when I had an emergency hospital stay for an unknown reason. She started hammering me about my medications. She would not listen at all and seemed very combative. She then bad mouthed her nurse to me which is clearly inappropriate. Needless to say I am looking for another primary care Dr. I am amazed ANYONE has a good experience with her.

I agree with one of the other reviews, if you have elderly parents DO NOT SEE HER. This doctor treated my parents with ZERO respect. My parents moved back home from Florida and needed to establish themselves with a new doctor here in Minnesota. This doctor was so rude to my parents, she badgered my parents about my fathers medication and why he had extra pills. When they tried to explain and asked her to talk to their doctor in Florida she said "NO". My mom was so shocked she told the doctor "you don't seem to believe us" the doctors reply "I don't believe anyone", she treated my parents as tho they were deadbeats and getting drugs on the street. She told them to come back in 30 days and to bring their empty pill bottles with them when they come back. My mom, who is a good christian women and very sweet, asked the doctor "what good that would be to bring empty bottles back when you can just dump out the pills" The doctor snapped at her and said "I don't appreciate that kind of… sarcasm" . My parents are in their middle 80's they still live on their own in their own home, they both drive and they are the sweetest people who are very giving and caring. This doctor had them feeling like the scum of the earth, she was so disrespectful of my parents and treated them terrible. I would guess this doctor treats her dogs better then she treated my parents. DO NOT GO TO HER.

I took my mother to see her a few years ago and was impressed with the care and time she took to care for her. I had always gone with her to her visits and the Dr. was always very professional and caring. I recently moved out of state and my mother went for her appointment with Dr. Williams without anyone to accompany her. My mother called me and was in tears. My mother is an older lady and hard of hearing. She asked my mother a question that my mother did not hear. She then snapped at my mother and yelled at her and said, "I asked you a question". When my mother explained that she did not hear her, Dr. Williams then asked her if her "husband helped her with her medications". Then Dr. Williams went on to tell her the next 'appointment she should see someone else". My mother is a very capable woman. She still works part-time, drives, shops and cares for herself. She is hard of hearing not "stupid". I was surprised but then again maybe when I went with her she was on her best… behavior. Either way, we are now looking for a new physician. She was rude, uncaring, thoughtless, and mean. It would seem as though she doesn't deal with the elderly. Do not take your older family members to her.

I have been a patient of Dr. Swartz-Williams for about five years. I was sold on her at my very first visit with her. She went through my medical history paperwork line by line, asking pertinent questions and paying attention to all the answers (I'd never experienced that before!) She has seen me through gallstones, asthma, and most recently, thyroid cancer. Her caring, support and knowledge have been consistent, and her willingness to say, "I need to research that and get back to you," is honest and professional. I recommend her to everyone who asks me if I know a good doctor. I am a health care professional, and understand the value of trust in your physician.

Dr. Schwartz-William has always provided professional service while emphasizing healthy diet, exercise, and essential supplements (not excessive) are part of a healthy lifestyle. I appreciate that she does NOT prescribed medications unnecessarily. She sits down with me and explains each step as she works through my case. She answers all my questions thoughtfully and respectfully.She appears to stay current with the latest medical studies and is willing to admit when she needs to do further investigating before giving a diagnosis. This is an important trait as I do not ever want a doctor who is too busy or insecure to take the proper steps to arrive at a proper diagnosis. Too many docs quickly write a script and send you out the door.I feel like Dr. Schwartz-Williams understands the doctor-patient relationship by providing me with excellent medical advice yet ultimately allowing me to be in charge of my own healthcare.

Impressed with her professional behavior and I feel that she is very competent.I am a health care provider and am both happy and comfortable that she is my Doctor.

She missed that somone (maybe herself) had put me on medication for a male only problem while I was in the hospital. It was defintally someone in the Lutheran group as that is all I saw. Then she wanted to send me back to the doctor who got me hooked on narcotics while in the hospital and with the prescriptions he sent me home with (Dr. Zolman) If you want an inadequate doctor who will send you to the same then go to her.
