Dr. Yen has been awesome to deal with. Very personable. Very attentive to my needs. His nurse is amazing! I had some issues and when I called, they told me to come right in which was awesome. Surgery day Dr. Yen was super nice with explaining everything to my family after surgery. Overall great experience and great surgeon!

This was my second time for breast cancer with breast implant. My result from this man is horrible. I don't think he was prepared at all for my surgery. I have a hole under my left arm that I can stick my finger into. He had no explanation for that. I told him I only wanted one surgery with implants that match. I was told it could be done. It wasn't done. He talks in circles and never directly answers a question. When Iowa Clinic knew I was upset they did one of the most demeaning & insulting things they could do. They sent me $50 in gift cards I gave them back. $50 isn't going to make up for what he did to me and what I still have to face. Do your homework. His specialty is hand surgery not breast surgery. Myself like others facing breast cancer just want to get it over with. BIG MISTAKE. If you don't care about your outcome go to him.

After massive weight loss, I wanted an addominoplasty. I had consults with 3 plastic surgeons in the Des Moines area. Dr. Yen was the only one I "clicked" with and felt very confident in his skills. At my consultation, he answered all of my questions thoroughly, added any information that he felt pertinent, and took pictures. I thought he was pleasant, he made me laugh. I will say that all of your appointments after the consultation are short & sweet, in & out type things. If you have questions, you will get them answered and not be rushed at all, but don't expect to see him for a minute more than necessary. I'm not saying this because it bothered *me,* I am a big fan of efficiency, and not a woman of many words myself. But some people want a warm and fuzzy friend relationship with their doctors, and most likely you will not get that with Dr. Yen. What you WILL get is a skilled surgeon who delivers excellent results. My tummy looks absolutely amazing! It literally could not have been… done any better, everyone is impressed with his work. His staff is very warm and helpful and will return your calls quickly. The Iowa Clinic offices are very modern, comfortable, bright, and clean. So, the office, as well as Lakeview Surgery Center, where my procedure was performed were satisfactory as well. If I needed another cosmetic procedure, I would not hesitate to call Dr. Yen.
