Dr. Lifei Guo, MD

Dr. Guo was a self-absorbed, unsympathetic surgeon. His bedside manner was non-existent. He was unapologetically late for literally every appointment, with waits being AT LEAST 45 minutes (once 2 hours before his staff finally agreed I should reschedule and leave), and when he did arrive, he spent no more than 5-10 minutes talking to (not me, but) some young intern he brought with him, using me as a case study. His nursing staff was often put in awkward situations trying to explain where he was (or rather, why he wasn't at your appointment). Then - post surgery, he was inattentive and never listened when there were problems. "Just wait and it will get better." "You have to let things run their course." For me, it cost me another chunk out of my breast after reconstruction because of his failed work and infections that he told me were normal. I would not recommend this doctor to remove a splinter.

I am very happy to be his patient. He has a great bedside manner and easy to talk to. I love my results!

no brain whatsoever-doesn't know what he's doing-poor excuse for a human being and even worse excuse for a "dr" he's a quack and is a money hungry one at that.

Go for other opinion. I have strange experience with this doctor.After many reconstractions there was always more to fix later.After his work and my disfigured body, he dropped me.He said no more.I was crushed, not only I had cancer , chemo, he made me look and feel horrible. So many surgeries and always something went wrong.

DR lifei guo MD, PHD is very good doctor excellent person in 2006 his make my breast reduction and now I very happy my breast now look very nice and sexi thanks doctor guo you made me excellent job .....

Hard to believe some of the reviews below are for the same doctor! I found Dr. Guo to be compassionate and kind and my results (breast reconstruction) are beautiful, first rate. My surgery and recovery went very well with zero complications--even the visiting nurses were impressed. My experience is only in breast reconstruction, but at least in that I would recommend him to anyone without any hesitation at all.

Dr. Guo is a very smart and caring doctor. Excellent surgical results and has been extremely accomodating in scheduling visits and being timely. I had to have a double mastectomy with reconstruction due to cancer and sometimes he had to tell me things I didn't want to hear, but he absolutely did do what's best for me.

An overall bad experience, I was there because I had a broken 4th metacarpal. I had two appointments (one before, one after), which meant waiting first time 2 hours, first time 40 min. In the first visit he came in, tried to shake my (broken) hand, quickly showing me that he had no idea why he was in that room. After a quick look in the chart he mumbled something that he does not know what he will do, maybe screws, maybe a plate, he'll decide during the surgery. At the day of the surgery, I did not see him before, got anesthetized, and when I woke up he was already gone. Turned out that he neither told one of the nurses how the surgery went (or what he exactly did), nor my girlfriend who was waiting for him the whole time. For the next two weeks I tried to call his office, just to get to know what exactly was done. After two weeks I again had an appointment with him and he finally told me that I now have a plate in my hand holding the bone.We all normally agree that surgeons horrible… bed side manners are forgiven if the actual surgery was good work, but not even there he did a good job.It has been 13 months now after the surgery and although my hand is fully functional, some patches of my hand are still numb (meaning he damaged some nerves) and I have a huge scar (almost as long and wide as my ring finger).Again, if you have the choice, stay away from him.

Ladies please, get another opinion if a expander/implant re-construction is recommended on a radiated breast. I was left totally disfigured, with an open wound to my chest wall.I can tell you first hand, and supply photo's of a failed re-construction due to the chosen procedure by the physician.It is my goal to spare Woman from going through what I have had to endure.
