Dr. Lilah Morris-Wiseman is an outstanding surgeon who was the only doctor who heard what I was saying when three other well-regarded physicians weren’t even listening! She recognized and acknowledged my symptoms and agreed that I needed surgery for my disorder. She successfully operated on me in late January of 2025. Other doctors acknowledged my serious health condition, but simply dismissed the need for surgery, telling me to “watch and wait” instead. I knew that was wrong and told them that I wasn’t going to sit by idly and “watch and wait” while my condition worsened. Certain guidelines only recommend surgery if you were under 50 years of age. I knew from the start that that made no sense because the vast majority of victims of this disease are over age 50 when they get it! I had a simple minimally invasive outpatient surgery and Dr. Morris-Wiseman removed the two diseased glands without any difficulty whatsoever. I was back home within a couple of hours of the surgery… with no pain whatsoever and minimal discomfort from the anesthesia. Five days post surgery I returned to my daily routine of walking 10,000 steps a day at the gym. I just had my post-op appointment with her. There is absolutely no visible scar; all of my energy has returned and I feel ten years younger. For the record, I am 77 years old and in very good health and shape. The medical profession needs many more doctors who are open to patients who are advocating on their own behalf.
