Dr. Liliana Hoyos-Murray, PsyD

Absolutely worst therapist and shouldn’t be in practice in my opinion. I saw this woman at one of my most vulnerable moments in my life, dealing with serious complex PTSD and narcissistic abuse, as well as addiction and alcoholism in my immediate family. She invalided my experience and feelings multiple times, rolled her eyes and huffed at me at one point while suggesting that I stop coming in because her other clients were dealing with much worse issues, and at one point basically instructed me to go have casual sex to get over a breakup. When I expressed that I wasn’t comfortable doing so (how is sleeping around constructive to healing?) she said “they say the way you get over someone is to get under someone new”. The things she said and the callousness with which she met me were UNREAL. She recommended a new age book that linked physical ailments to mental health issues and disorders. Look up the definition of “spiritual bypassing” and you will read a description of Liliana’s… “therapy”. This woman was the first therapist I saw and finally opening up to her about pain I had held secret for years and hasn’t ever articulated before required a lot of courage. She acted like I was an angsty teen who just hated my parents and was going to therapy for fun or attention (this truly was the farthest thing from the truth). My time with her was harmful and hindered my healing for years in a few different ways. One being, it took some time before I was able to ask for help again. Now that I have experienced what real help looks like from true professionals, I look back on my experience with Liliana and can’t believe she even has a license. If you’re vulnerable and in crisis, do yourself a favor and find someone else to support you. If you’re dealing with narcissistic abuse — don’t call this woman unless you’d like to experience even more gaslighting. P.S. I never write these reviews but I believe this woman should be held accountable for her negligence.

Liliana is a warm, caring, professional, knowledgeable and supportive therapist ! I feel lucky to be working with her !
